Official I have L4.49 Thread

I just got 4.49 this morning, but I don't see this popup guide people are talking about. Checked menu's, see no option to enable it. Guide buttone still cycles through same as ever.

I've also heard mention of DVR folders behaving differently?? Don't see any difference in regular DVR or external USB drive listings, just grouping on the regular listing, nothing on the USB storage listing.

Am I missing something? I was on 4.48 before.

(normally i'd do more searching on the forum first, but time is limited so please excuse me if this has been posted and point me in the right direction!)

My 622 got it but my 722 hasn't yet. I knew something was up, when the 622 woke me up last night. (It's in my bedroom) It never wakes me up, so it must have been doing the multiple re-boot thing. However, I did notice a new option in the DishOnline section called "TV Entertainment". It was empty of course, with just a message saying "coming soon" (We all know Dish's definition of "soon") Perhaps this is the long-awaited free on-demand content we've been asking for. Or perhaps it's just more PPV offerings. PPV TV episodes. Who knows, but I guess we'll find out "soon".

The girlfriend informed me this morning [way later than normal around 6:00 am] that our 622 was doing the mad reboot thing just like everyone else, so I assume all is well.

They should be un-touched. There's a "system" partition where the receiver's OS and utilities are stored and then there's "user" or data partitions where recordings, among other things, are stored.
It was explaned a few times - 522/625/622/722/612 DOESN'T have OS partition/data on disk ! Only current logs, user settings and recordings.

Oh great. I turned on the TV this morning and 622 was in the middle of downloading/updating. I was running late so I turned off the TV after a couple of minutes and left the 622 alone to finish its thing. I thought it was weird that the 622 was doing a software update at 7:00a (it is set for 3:00a).

So I come here to see if I could find anything about a new software update and find this thread chalked full of reboot loop problems. I'll have to wait until I get home to see what the deal is, but I can only surmise that I also have the reboot loop problem since the download process should have started at 3:00a and was still doing its thing at 7:00a.

What exactly is the "reboot loop problem" anyway? Is it merely rebooting over and over? Or is it going through the entire downloading and updating process with each reboot?

I got up this morning around 6:00 AM to LOUD hard disk noise.... Receiver would not come on, and no banner on the TV screen... Hopefully when i get home this afternoon all will be OK??????

Mine was updating at 7 AM today too, I was wondering why since I thought it was supposed to do that in the middle of the night. I haven't had time to turn it on for longer than a few minutes tonight yet, so I hope everything's OK. Seems like a lot of trouble for an update that hardly adds any features that anyone can figure out.

Well they did do a GREAT job of messing up the fast forward and reverse feature, mine is now very "weird" and "clunky" :-(

I checked my 622 about 6:45 CST after reading the first part of this thread and it was at 448. It started humming just before I left for work and it is at 449 tonight and seems to be operating fine. The favorites popup should keep my wife from changing lists when she accesses the guide.

Looks like my 722 didn't survive the update. Last night at 2:30 AM I got 303 messge when I tried to turn it back on. At 7 AM it was constantly rebooting with 061 message, tech support said to do nothing. At 12:45 PM I called tech support again. Told to try power button reset, then power cord reset when power button reset didn't work. Left unplugged for 45 minutes then plugged in again. Called tech support again and was told to just let it keep rebooting. Its now 4 hours later and still constantly rebooting. So how many hours should I let this continue before pulling the plug and putting in my old 942 as a temporary replacement so that I can watch something on satellite? :(

I do have a Sony HD DVR and a computer set to record all HD OTA programs I wanted to record tonight so OTA is covered. :up

I came home thinking that the reciever would work itself out, up on the screen is 061 "Boot Recovery" and it never does anything..
on the phone now..

jamesnet - Try a hard reboot (unplug it) and see if that fixes it - it should. The earlier problem was because they targeted L4.49 to L4.49 so it kept trying to redownload. That has now been fixed in the stream.
