Monsters HD online petition

I have heard from someone at Dish that the only people calling about VOOM are the ones who already called in many times before.

I also hear the complaints were a lot less then they expected to get.

Hmmm... I wonder why they had to add a special HD complaint line within a week of removing the Voom channels.

I really don't believe Dish's statement of little complaints.

Question for you guys that like Monsters- Do you watch the Sci-fi channel? I haven't watched that channel for years and I like Science Fiction/Horror. What is good on SciFi?

IMHO - Sci-Fi HD is the best SD to HD conversion I have ever seen.

They keep ALL aspect ratios! SD looks better!

They add the HD logo ONLY when the broadcast is HD!

Content is another issue... They did air the three Indiana Jones Movies in 1:2.35 HD, they also aired some really really cheap movie in HD too. They tend to air more HD than most of the other national HD channels too.

Sci-Fi HD is a good one, but no Monsters HD

One of these days Dish will remove a beloved channels, and the shoe will be on they other foot. I was not around when Dish was the real hd leader, but I assume from posts they really let the Directtv fans have every chance they got. Now the HD landscape has changed and Directtv fans are paying back. Same will go here, You think Dish will not get in a dispute with one of your Favs?? It will happen sooner than later..some people already know what Dish is capable of on that front. The track record speaks for itself..ask yourself why the most beloved (not by Me) SpeedHd is not on Dish, or the free 1 year "free preview" of NFL network went away for AT100 subs! Ask yourself why is Dish involved in so many lawsuits..yet they are always in the right and just Victims of a contract issue. Funny,it is always the other guy.

I though about it...

It's the bad and unethical business practices of a man whose power has gone to his head.

I tell the reps what is really going on when they finish reading their scripts; they are honestly shocked.

Ok then tell us whats really going on... I would be interested in hearing it...

I have spoken with Dish (including with "the man" himself) and also with folks from VOOM and their stores seem to match up.

But if you got the real scoop then let it fly. :)

Possibility?

Is there any possibility that Voom & E* will come to some form of reconciliation? I just seems strange that Charlie is willing to lose a 20% stake in the company.

His 20% never generated a penny of profit, so what's to lose?

None, and from what I am hearing VOOM does not want to be back on Dish eaither...

As I said before it best for Rainbow Media now to break up VOOM and offer cable and satellite companies individual channels such as Monsters and Kung Fu.

That would be a good alternative... of course, some on this board would not be happy still. I think they would have a hard time shopping some of those channels.

Maybe they would finally combine some of the channels........ but I doubt anything will happen until they get rejected the decision they are looking for.

The real scoop comes from this board ;)

I'm just referring to the simple fact that the reps don't seem to be aware of the E* / Voom lawsuit. Many reps actually believe the scripts, that the channels were removed to provide room for the new 22 channels.

We all know that is not true and when I tell them some of the things I've read here, they are shocked.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to be a "Scott". I'm just telling the reps what I have read from posts like "Scott's".

I would go for that since Monster HD was one of the more popular and would most likely get picked up.

Even if reps know about the lawsuit they can not talk about it just like Dish or VOOM can not comment on it publiclly as well as its ongoing litigtion.

In addition many of the folks that work for Dish have nver seen or heard of VOOM before themself.

Also remember the old golden rule. CSR's are always the last to know anything. :D

Their stories match up, but the problem is agreeing with who is to blame for the Voom Takedown. If they they agreed, there would be no lawsuits or take downs. It would be worked out on the contract table. The same story with a it ending with each blaming each other for the take down? If the ending does not match up the stories do not. The Bottom line is We have no Voom and each side thinks it has done the right thing. They point the finger at each other. We are out 15 Hd channels we would have if they agreed...very simply, That is "what is going on" Until I hear or see otherwise from Dish or Voom. You can take any side you would like, but it ends with the customer short on HD channels.

We should start a new petition for Voom to do what Scott said and just keeping some of the channels and selling them out.

Im afraid this is bigger than us small fries.

Bottom line is, lets hope that Voom survives to fight another day.
How can they stay afloat without a national account??

Im worried about Voom.

Again, I wish they stayed with the 5 channels and tried to work out a new deal.

Cablevision and some foreign services forVoom is not enough.

I would have to say that their boss Charlie is a crooked business man, to say the least. One does not get sued as much as E* (and I might add, lose those suits) without doing dishonest things. The VOOM take down is just the latest (that we know of) in a long line of shady deals from Ergen.
