Well, $49.95 minus $29.95 is still $20 here in America last time I checked.
But thanks for underscoring my point that this plan is extremely confusing.
Sorry, I was assuming you had an HD DVR and locals.

Why is the NBA channel part of the higher HD package when it has an SD simulcast?
I fear your spreadsheet is exactly right (thanks for doing it!). I'll be paying $19 more per month if you are correct...$110 instead of $91, but I guess that's still $23 less than I was paying at $133 with AEP.
Would you consider adding DVR Advantage rates to your sheet?
Sorry, I was assuming you had an HD DVR and locals.
Funny thing is the dishHD tab on E*'s website just today (for me anyway) started listing it as dishHD Absolute, although Scott has been talking about that name change for a coupla months. As early as this morning when I checked, it just said dishHD.What is this "Dish HD Absolute" people keep talking about?
EDIT...Fitz..you both answered my question and did a better job of explaining what I was trying to explain. Still, do the bills actually say "Absolute"? I'm just wondering where this name came from. Never seen anyone use it until today.

If I understand this correctly, none of the new HD packages will have any of the premium HBOs, SHOs, MAXs & STARZ HD channels included. The premiums will be an addition to, correct?
I do, but we're talking about my dad. He doesn't have a DVR. I still don't see what that has to do with anything.
HD Only + HD DVR + Locals = $40.90 (or is it $41.90?)
TurboHD Gold DishDVR Advantage + Platnum $59.99
That's actually LESS than $20 difference.
I understood what you meant. But I think Scott should NOT have used Dish's wording... It's NOT true and he's just repeating their baseless claims at this point.Scott should use the headline as it is written. I was criticizing the headline itself, not Scott's thread title.
Plus you'd get your RSN's with the new version, so not as bad as I thought. Thanks.
Will my prices change? Will i get those extra non-movie channels in my pack?
It did for me.
If I were to get Turbo Gold with no DVR and no locals, would i still get my local RSNs. If I added Platinum my bill would be $49.99 correct? Also, does anyone know if Encore HD will be in the Encore pack? One Encore is left out of the pack already.
Because it isn't obsolete, it is absoluteWhy would they change the name of a package the day they announce it is obsolete?
Here we go again. I am only responding to clear up this false information.D* opened the floodgates on the vague channel counts early last year when they suggested that NFL ST, MLB EI and other "channels" may be included to reach their number-of-channel claims. That's when Comcast claimed they'd have 800 channels by year's end and their Philly system already had 199 (they claimed their VOD offerings as channels).
