NBATV-SD has never been a part of any AT package. It's a "bonus" with the AEP.

OK, This is the revised version of the spreadsheet that assumes the Turbo Packs are directly related to the AT tiers.
Again, this is conjuring the breakdown using basic deductive reasoning, take it with a grain of salt... dish could go with something completely out of left field and surprise us all!
If I understand this correctly, none of the new HD packages will have any of the premium HBOs, SHOs, MAXs & STARZ HD channels included. The premiums will be an addition to, correct?
I do, but we're talking about my dad. He doesn't have a DVR. I still don't see what that has to do with anything.

That's actually LESS than $20 difference.
Funny thing is the dishHD tab on E*'s website just today (for me anyway) started listing it as dishHD Absolute, although Scott has been talking about that name change for a coupla months. As early as this morning when I checked, it just said dishHD.
And thanks for pointing out that you could add TurboHD Platinum to not just TurboHD Gold, but also to TurboHD Bronze and Silver...I hadnt realized that...and that sure will make for additional confusion...
And hell, while I'm at it, where is E* coming up with hitting the 100 HD channel mark on 8/1? Even by their own counts I think they're at 81 currently, no? +17 = 98. I just checked their printable channel lineup that clearly lists 47 (including Big 10, but no other RSNs). I checked out their HD Sports link, and that lists 25 RSNs (Big 10 not listed there). So I come up with 47 Nationals (including Big 10) +25 RSNs +5 PPVs +17 new = 94...which ones am I missing? Are they counting Locals? If yes, then that's 98 at best (possibly 99 if some people start getting The CW HD?)

Well, yes and no. It works the same as it always does...premiums by definition cost extra.
But if you subscribe to HBO, or Starz, or Cinemax, the HD channels are free.
Why is everyone trying to make a confusing situation more confusing? Or make a big price increase bigger?

I looked at that page this afternoon on a different computer, and that tab still said "Dish HD". Maybe it was in the cache?
I understood what you meant. But I think Scott should NOT have used Dish's wording... It's NOT true and he's just repeating their baseless claims at this point.

My channels are: America's Top 250 + Locals, HD Essentials, and RAI Italia
I have a 722 and a 222.
Will my prices change? Will i get those extra non-movie channels in my pack?
I'm not asking about what channels are HD-Only and what will happen with those... I know nothing is clear about that yet.

Still...RSN +Lifetime+ CBS Sports + Planet Green = not worth $18-$20. Especially to someone who won't watch any of them.
The good news...I'm betting they are setting things up for more basic HD channels in the future. People keep pointing out that they aren't getting added because there's no room in the HD "Absolute" pricing.
I would expect to see press releases as we go forward that say "DISH Network today added Spike-HD to Bronze packages and higher, Speed-HD to Silver packages and higher, and Fuse-HD to Gold packages...'AT NO EXTRA COST!'" (Because we added the extra cost 6 months ago.)
Why would they change the name of a package the day they announce it is obsolete?
If I were to get Turbo Gold with no DVR and no locals, would i still get my local RSNs. If I added Platinum my bill would be $49.99 correct? Also, does anyone know if Encore HD will be in the Encore pack? One Encore is left out of the pack already.
Turbo Gold is $39.99 and includes your RSN. If you add Turbo Platinum, it is another $10 = $49.99. Encore HD seems ot be a bit of a questions right now.

Direct has never once, never, never, never, counted their sports package channels and still doesn't count them towards their totals.
Of course people will just continue to post this as a fact and I have no idea where they get this information from...
