I picked up a 8' dish last week and it has what appears to be H H mount made by Channel Master. Does anyone have any info on this setup, I can't find anything about it. I've been able to fix the motor and free up the mount but not sure how to adjust it, not like my other dishes which all use an actuator. I've been thinking about using it for a FTA setup.

Finally got around to putting up the channel master dish, still trying to figure out who might have made the HH mount. Any thoughts from anyone?

Bet ya one of our guys who've been in dishes commercially over the years, will offer a clue.

Get some more (higher resolution) pictures, from all angles, and I'm sure the adjustment points will be come apparent.

I'm stupidly entertaining the notion of making one, so this new strange design is fascinating. :up
. . . or just ship it over to me and I'll let ya know. ;)

Hi Sergi, as far as I know I beleive that was made by Channel Master, out of their NJ location where the mess dishes where made. now I got 1 here the only difference is mine has a 10-foot reflector, an even have a spare motor for it also, it is a very well built H to H mount.

Now will give you a few pointers if you don't know already, watch you're 2 gaskets where the (1 where the 3-screws hold the cover on, an large O-ring at the base) control wires hook up to the terminal block, if they go bad it will let water run down into the motor, via where the red & white wires come true the base to the terminal block, I use silcone where their at.

an its a bugger to set up to track the arc, if you're using a dual feed or lnb-f, the reason is when you adjust the offset for that dish you have to turn the dish in the hub (an it changes the Vertical an Horz of the lnb-f) that drops into the H to H mount. the best way that I have found to set 1 up is to use a co-rotor then switch it out to a lnb-f after you have the tracking all set.

All in all I like that set up it is very well built an works an tracks great, I run mine here from AMC-8 to Telstar-12, the only problem that I ever had was the return count from the sensor put a different magnet wheel an used a sensor from a Von weise V-76 an no problem since then, an by changing the mag (1 from a super jack drops right on the shaft, an it a little larger in diameter) wheel it doubled my return counts to the G-Box. also that CM 7 1/2-footer will play very well for its size, those CM mess dishes had some of the best gain of all the mess dishes that I have worked with.

Good luck an enjoy that nice set up.

Sergei, I don't know anything about about your h-h mount, but I sure like that tractor. Just sold my 35hp Mahindra yesterday. I need one about the size of yours.

I when with the 2815 HST...great little tractor...it sure makes installing dishes a lot easier with the FEL.

Dish is up and working just great, tracking the arc perfectly, thank you for the info about it, already seen what happens when water gets into motor. Had to repair the main shaft gear and remove all the gears except for the sensor assembly because the main gear broke and most of the main shaft is rusted out and it took out the teeth on a smaller gear. So now I move it with the 920 and it just doesn't known where its fixed end limits are, I let the receiver set those.

Thanks again 1Captain for the added info.

Also I will agree with you on the performance, my dish next to it has a co-rotor on it and with just a plain c band feedhorn it has better readings across the satellites with both digital and analog channels....now to dig another hole for the 8' Zenith dish..and with this dish I think I've pushed the wife about as far as I can. Four dish seem to be her limit.

Hi Sergie I would set you're limits in the motor they are easy to do, an will let you know how. years ago had a customer with a DSR920 that took a lighting hit an his DSR receiver ran an Birdview dish to the far west an broke off the 3 mounting ears on the gear box that holds the motor to the steel plate, didn't relize it till hook up new motor an dish started running asap. the DSR was putting out voltage on the actuator wires when the receiver was power up.

Now to set the limits, 1st drive the dish to its west sat , then remove the motor, an the side cover, will notice a stop, 2 of them on each side of big roung gear (about 1/2" round bar welded to the back plate) then with a big scwer-driver turn the worm gear till almost to that bar (NOT on the bar just a little off it), an stop. now with a receiver or power supply run the motor west till it hits the west limit switch, (lower, grey ecentric an it is fixed can not move it is pressed on shaft). now reinstall the motor, west limit switch is set now.

now need to set east limit switch, the top grey ecentric is moveable, only has a small spring holding it down on teeth on the lower ecentric, if you take a small screw-diver an just lift it up will move an aline with the teeth on lower ecentric. now start moving the dish to the east till you start getting close to the east stop on the mount (agin round bar welded) then set the top limit to where it stops just before hitting the round bar stop, now you're east limit is set.

dive the dish back to the same position that you started from, hook up you're receiver an will be good to go to watch TV. Even on my motor drives that don't have limit switches on them I will try to mount a switch some how to get to trip just in case if any thing ever goes wrong, to keep from costing me time an money to fix them.

Hi Sergei,
Looks like the Channel Master is a real nice dish! Would like to see more images of it. It sure helps to have a tractor too to help you erect it! ;) Good luck with it. I'm sure you will be happy with it.
Tom
:D

Here another picture when I installed my 10' Radex dish, I couldn't have installed my dish by myself without the tractor.
