You folks who are just bitching that this thread should not exist are old enough, but perhaps not wise enough, to know how to avoid thread discussions - just stay the frack out. I'm talking to any of you folks who were around and bitching about this thread since May. What makes you think you're really welcome here?

I'm starting to think these people not only LOVE HATING VOOM, but might be a little bit retarded too.

I know that's not PC, but going into the thread they despise over and over, month after month, seems psycho and stupid.

what the heck.

I miss my UltraHD, TreasureHD, GalleryHD, RAVE

Monsters sux ;) never watched it, never will.

But i miss Voom.

I've been sending thank you letters weekly to Dish Network for getting rid of Voom. Perhaps that has something to do with why they aren't looking into bringing it back. i'm sure thousands of others have done the same.

Dear Dish network,

I've been receiving way too much high quality HD with no commercial interruptions. WTF? How can you stay in business being so generous like that? Seriously dude, you need to dump that high quality stuff and put on some stretch-o-vision channels with tons of ads every 6 minutes or you'll never make any money. I can't believe it isn't that obvious! Dump all those Voom channels and jack up my bill and that way I know you will be around for a looooong time!

See ya!

I. M. Stoopid

Just a little reminder...

...of what happened some months ago and why the Tivo verdict may look like chump change when this matter is litigated, VOOM HD Networks

[PIE]To our DISH Network viewers

Thank you for contacting us about the VOOM HD channels. We truly regret that our world class suite of 15 high definition channels is no longer available to you and other Dish subscribers, but this decision was made solely by the Dish Network and is something we urged them not to do. We hope that you will be able to view the VOOM HD channels again soon. If you would like to express your dissatisfaction with Dish's decision to drop the VOOM channels then please contact them directly.[/PIE]

People can also follow the case via the "First amended complaint filed in VOOM vs. Echostar Lawsuit" thread.

FYI, VOOM and Echostar are back in court on the 12th of December for a compliance conference. The real fireworks in this case are more than a year away...unless both parties reach a settlement. So this thread will still be active well into 2010.:tux:

Anyway, here is the Court Ordered stipulation from 10 September just to put this case into perspective:

Initial expert reports by: June 12, 2009 (was February 13, 2009)
Rebuttal expert reports by: July 10, 2009 (was March 13, 2009)
Depostions of experts completed by: August 21, 2009 (was April 17, 2009)
End date for all disclosure: August 21, 2009 (was April 17, 2009)
Depositions shall end by: August 21, 2009 (was April 17, 2009)
Compliance Conference: August 21, 2009 (was April 17, 2009)
Note of Issue: September 18, 2009 (was May 14, 2009)
Complete discovery and inspection: November 28, 2008 (was July 30, 2008)
Depositions shall begin on or after: November 28, 2008 (was July 30, 2008)

Amazing. And people wonder what's wrong with our judicial system?

Thanks for posting that.

Not that the schedule matters. I'm almost positive Dish will win this one. Seems pretty clear from the filings I've seen that Voom broke the contract. When Dish called them on it, they just plugged up there ears and said "lalalalala I can't hear you!" up until the they day they were yanked.

I can't wait to see them try to argue that them sponsoring Team Summit and paying Cablevision execs millions counted toward the $100M in programming they were supposed to spend.

The expression "same s*** different day comes to mind. :)

You missed Voom 3 months ago; you miss it today. I fail to see the difference.

I guess that also goes for your constant "where's the new HD channels, and I don't care if there's no HD on Comedy Central HD, I want it anyway!" whines.....but you still do it, and open new threads to do it.....and post in any other thread you feel it necessary to whine......

Fine. As I suggested, start the topic in the general TV forum. However, Voom is no longer a Dish topic. It's gone from Dish and not coming back.

Plus, it's not like anyone here is posting anything new. There is no news, hence nothing constructive to discuss.

Who made you hall monitor? That wooden pass gave you some feeling of power in 6th grade, didn't it?

If you don't want to read about others thoughts or feelings about VOOM, stay out of the thread!

'nuff said

VOOM claims they not only met the spend limit, but they exceeded it by several million dollars. Additionally, they too are convinced that they will prevail in this case. I will keep an opened mind since the "real evidence" in this case is being closely guarded, and everything we've read so far is largely hearsay and speculation.

As far as moving this thread elsewhere...sorry, but this matter is relavant to the Dish Network Forum until this matter is adjudicated. EchoStar could be out as much as one billion dollars if they are found to have illegally terminated the affiliation agreement.

Let's see.

Comedy Central HD has a chance to come to Dish Network. Voom does not.

There is slow progress on channel availability, channel negotiations, rumors, and new uplinks that we can talk about for new HD. There is no new Voom news.

I suspect, if were were to poll Dish HD customers, more would want to see Comedy Central HD than all 15 Voom networks.

And there are a lot more here that want more HD than the 20 or so members that endlessly complain about Voom.

Comedy Central lol. You have vastly different tastes than me. What was that show on E you like? It is pretty bad that you feel the need to rip others choices.

Applicable portions of the affiliation agreement have been quoted by both parties in their court filings. That is certainly real evidence. Voom also fully admits to not spending $100M. They just argue overhead counts, and the number was reduced becuase then number of channels was reduced, both of which have to stand up for them not to be in violation of the agreement. From what I've seen, those arguments don't hold water.

And Dish will not be paying $1B. Voom is just asking for an arbitraily large number. Some of you are just so blinded by their hatred of Charlie, they want Dish to go under.

Fine, have this thread for your continued complaints. But don't complain when people come in here and point out the fallacy of your arguments. This has never been designated a "Voom lover's only" thread.
