I've seen comments about some channels using AC3 audio and decoders for it. If you have something that will play AC3 audio, how do you take it from your receiver? Does it come like garbled out the audio jacks and you feed it into your AC3 decoder? Is it a digital signal you take from the SP/DIF output, then run it to your decoder? Or must you have a receiver that specifically can deal with AC3?

Thanks.

It is a digital signal that you have to take from the receiver's SPDIF output (or maybe even an RCA jack, if your receiver supports it - it would be labeled "coaxial"). Right now, I'm using an RCA surround system.

Get the Cyberhome CH-SRD 600R, it works great for decoding the Dolby AC3 format. Comes with both coax & optical cables included.

I looked at the package again, your right "Sonic Voom." The SRD-600 is the Universal Digital Audio(UDA) Adapter, the headphones are model HPS-10. Cyberhome is the name on the manual, it was manufactured 8/2004.

I just wish my Harman/Karmon would translate the AC-3 from the PBS Stations from 125 Degree West.
Sonicview 360 Premier's factory states "No programed in this product".
I notice a Multiple Audio Icon, and Dolby Icon (the AC-3) both lite, that I do not get sound on this system. So as to other systems, I do not know.

I have a Sony surround sound system that works fine. I use a fiber-optic cable between the sat receiver and the amp.
C.

Have they updated the Cyberhome CH-SRD 600R or given it a new name ?

I have been checking on google and lot of sites say no longer available.
