Engineers probably to the night off and also the weekend. They will probably resume Monday night.
I think before Charlie hired those engineers they had to agree in the contract to work the weekends if necessary and paid minimum wages for those extra hours
I do not see Dish in any real hurry, plenty of time to transfer and test. It is not like they want to turn on HD channels.
I have a question, so far I have only seen two TPs from 1-16 on my 625 that are without signal. If they are supposed to be spotbeams, I should not be able to lock on to most of them. What am I missing?
They have had the channels uplinked for a while and they fit on E5. They could have turned them on before Ciel-2 arrived.
I am sure they want to turn on HD channels, they just want to do it at the lowest price possible (to Dish), probably protracted negotiations with providers.
I could see them possibly wanting to be sure that Ciel-2 worked before committing to the extra channels, but even if Ciel-2 did not work, Dish would have had to make due since they still have to compete.
Not clear what tpns switched in each SB area. Perhaps tune on each one and watch signal level during one hour could tell.
For sure you test is not correct - see the skyscan: seven tpns are down.

It's really great to have a real, working sat there, I agree! We've been putting up with that thing for at least 4 years... Glad that hunk-o-junk is gone!
Technically speaking yes. Even if E5 still transmitting something, all national HD is moved to Ciel 2. That's what I was referring to. I'm glad they finally put something decent.
Responded to "that hunk-o-junk is gone!" I meant some lower tpns, like tp5 ( show periodic level changes) coming from E5.
I don't know if anyone here cares but I'm at lat 62.4628°, long -114.4403° and I get 30's and 40's on transponders 17 thru 32 from CII with a 622,1meter(39") dish,legacy lnb.
