2009 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament

You are confussing what the objective is for the team and what the objective is for fans of OTHER TEAMS. AND when you are stuck with what is being sent to you as the "main game"....you really don't have much choice....now do you?

C'mon now, you did realize that you could watch any game on your computer. I'm sure your kids would have liked some "quality time" with dad yesterday, also. I went outside with my little ones and played sports, while Syracuse was playing. I didn't feel a need to watch what I was sure to be a blow out. Blow outs are boring! (Yes Salsa, I took Syracuse over NC in the regional finals!)

Winning and playing entertaining basketball are not mutually exclusive. You'd think Big Ten folks would get that. I mean Magic Johnson played at Michigan St. The problem with the Big Ten now is that they have sh*t for talent. It's true. Most Big Ten teams have about the same talent as you'd find in the Missouri Valley. It's not like there's a shortage of good players in the midwest either. It's just that all the good players go to the ACC or Big East or Big XII. You think Kansas recruits locally? Big Ten fans want to be considered a "power" conference that should be mentioned in the same breath as the ACC or Big East. The truth is they are a glorified mid major league.

Not enough talent? Really? Or is it the fact that a lot of Big-10 teams recruit so well that they jump to the NBA after a year or two?

Deron Williams, Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Carmello Anthony, Daequon Cook, Kosta Koufos, Devin Harris, Michael Redd and Jason Richarson.....

sh*t for talent. Right.

Thank you.

UConn and UNC in the first round against the #16 seeds, now that was "boring".

Now see, I found the MSU/USC game to be very entertaining. I find the mix of styles in all the leagues interesting, but I find it most interesting when the styles clash, as they do in the tournament. So the Big 10 tournament may have been boring, but all that exciting BB everybody has been playing hasn't helped them against the "unathletic and boring" MSU and Purdue. Anybody who thinks that those two teams aren't "athletic" and are "boring" is just kidding themselves. We jump as high, and run as fast as anybody else in the nation.

Now I have not called the Big 10 "unathletic". I LOVED the Fab 5 when I loved in Chicago and watched alot of Big 10 games because where I was. I am not going back in history, I am not going back to Abe Lincoln....I, ME. MOI in particular, am speaking about this year.

As far as the MSU/USC games, the 2nd half picked up the pace a bit...but that 1st half was GOD awful.

You contradicted the hell out of yourself with this statement, huh?

The Big-10 isn't looking to provide a 3-ring circus when they come to town. Bottom line, their ultimate goal is to put a winning product on the court. Like I said earlier. There's nothing boring about winning.

The Big 10s goal is winning....CBSs goal during the NCAAs is entertaining. They KNOW they have the college hoop junkie...they WANT the average fan. Again, you confussing what the team objective is and what CBSs objective is.

Anybody remember the "4 Corners Offense" that North Carolina used under Dean Smith? Now THAT was boring basketball.

When KY would play games before the shot clock there would be people wasting time and the games would end up being barely double digits.

College Basketball must be as confused as you, considering they selected 7 boring Big-10 teams, the same as the Big East and ACC to be in this Tournament.

I don't give a sh*t about what CBS's objective is. If their objective is excitement, then why do they hang on to the blow outs when there are more exciting games being played in the other regions?

Those guys were good. Well not Koufos. He sucks. But the point is nobody can hang on to good players for long. You have to constantly get new good players. Bruce Weber was handed a loaded team thanks to Bill Self, and he hasn't done jack since then. Thad Motta gets Oden and Mike Conely to spend a few months in Columbus and now Ohio St is back to being irrelevant in basketball. The quality of talent right now in the Big Ten is closer to the Missouri Valley than the ACC or Big East. The difference is that Missouri Valley schools have to take what they can get. Big Ten teams shouldn't have to.

You may bot give a sh*t about what CBSs objective is...but if my team is not playing, I want the most entertaining game going on....or atleast the two biggest names playing each other at the time. Like Most fans want when their team is not playing...

It's just the way of the world right now...most of the best basketball players that come from Northern states are from NY/NJ, Philly, and the Pacific Northwest...those players go to traditional powers or warm weather. Everybody else in southern states goes to the same schools. The Big Ten is getting cut out because of it. It has effected Big East football, but not basketball because of the tradition. The problem is that the Big Ten schools don't have storied baskeball programs...Ohio State cheats enough to get good recruits, and Indiana (a storied tradition) tried that for a year, Minnesota did it for a decade...but that's what it's going to take. Out of the top 15 NBA players (based on Dimes list) only one is from the big 10
