Given how the Big 10 is a much-maligned conference, is it safe to say this will silence some of those critics?
Wha, wha what?!
This Nova team did what no team has been able to do so far this tournament, which was beat this very good Pitt team in a close game down the stretch. Previously, Fields & Blair have been nearly unstoppable down the stretch.
Great all around game by both teams. Give Jay Wright and Nova some credit though. They won fair and square.
The often-criticized Big 10 gets a Final Four represenative (although it is, far and away, that conference's best team), which is:
Good for Wozniak, who'll attend the games and get to root for someone
Bad for Anders, who ripped the conference all year
Bad for me- I thought the Spartans were overseeded
I guess the moral of the story is- never bet against teams coached by Tom Izzo

I am NOT going to diss the Spartans like I did Villanova last night (though I did lose another FF pick, I have to respect a team that made Big 10 critics eat crow)
Congrats to Paul, Jag, Tom Izzo & the Michigan State Spartans! Great win over the #1 overall seed to advance to the Final 4! Wow!

Great win by Michigan St. Louisville had the talent Michigan St had the coaching. Izzo is one of the greats. Poor Pitino panicked and called all his timeouts early on and then just had to be a spectator while Michigan St pulled away.
I've been hard on the Big Ten and I still think as a conference it sucks. But Michigan St has distinguished itself. 5 FF's in the last decade. That's getting it done. And the Spantans did not win today by stalling the whole game. They were aggressive and made shots in the 2nd half. Good for them. Too bad no one else in that conference can do the same.

I never knew Mr. Rebuilding Since 1957 like the Green of the Spartans.
I thought all Michigan fans hated Michigan State.
Paul is a Michigan man not MSU. It can sometimes be hard for a Michigan fan to cheer for an in state rival.
That being said the Final 4 will be rocking with State playing in front of an home state crowd.
My heart just bleeds for him!

I can't believe that Kentucky fans actually thought they could get Izzo to leave Michigan St for them. :haha How's that working out?
Congrats to the Spartans although my bracket is offically busted. You know how bad it is. I had Louisville beating UNC in the National Championship, so now Im just a bystander I guess.

He basically made a laughingstock out of the Celtics in his two plus years here.
But the biggest thing is when he made a back room deal with ownership that he wouldn't take the job of head coach/GM, unless he had the title of president also.
There was one problem with that, the legendary Red Auerbach was president. But Ricky Boy didn't care, as long as his enormous ego was stroked everything was good!
And after ALL THAT, he left the Celtics in worse shape than they were when he arrived.
He is one of the most villified sports figures in Boston sports history.
IMO, he's a capital F, Fraud!
