according to lyngsat, kepr, kima and my family tv should be open on galaxy 3,but when i enter the trans. i get 0 signal. are they still there?

yes, i can recieve the this network, fox affliate, and daystar.

I can't confirm that they are still there, but TP 17 "4040" is Horizontal and TP 2 & 24 are Vertical.
Did you try both polarities?

EDIT: Can you try TP 10 "3916" is also Vertical?

tried both polarities-no signal quality, tried 2 receivers, same thing

Try another Sat, and both Horizontal and Vertical TPs.
I wonder is if Polarity is not changing.
Are you using an Analog receiver?

you may be right about the polarity not changing,i'll need to check ,if it'll ever quit raining. only channels i'm getting are on horizontal side. thanks.

Re "my family tv" ...That "transponder" is active, and there is a channel there with the PIDs listed in Lyngsat, but I'm not sure what the channel actually is, because there is no SDT, but I assume it's right.

Re "kepr, kima" That transponder is also active, but the channels are not labeled as listed in Lyngsat. Instead, they are labeled as LPTV1,LPTV2,LPTV3, AND LPTV4.
The 3 and 4 channels both had a CBS logo on them.
However, the PIDs aren't as listed in Lyngsat. Instead of 3 and 4 being 401 and 501 for vpid, they are 301 and 401 respectively. Ie no 501 and there IS a 301.

Anyway, that transponder is there, and should scan in. The my family transponder is fairly narrow, however, so it might take a few tries, depending on your receiver.

do i need to hook my fta receiver to my analog receiver? got to thinking about the polarity, the servo controller runs into the my drake 324 analog receiver.

do i need to hook both receivers up in order to receive h and v polarity?

what LNB are you using? Is it one that the analog receiver needs to change polarity (do you have a polorotor) or is it a newer one?

The newer ones the FTA receiver can change polarity. The older ones you would need both units powered on. I remember my old Uniden when it was in off mode would turn the LNB to stay on a H polarity channel

i have two splitters,0-900 and a 5-600,which one would i use?

While the 2150 Ice mentioned would be better, a plain 0-900 TV type splitter will work fine for most people. I used one for years, and didn't notice any difference when I eventually got the higher rated splitters. There might be more need for a higher rated splitter if you had a universal Ku lnbf, but it sounds like you have standard BUD type LNBs, and the highest freq you'll need is 1450.
One thing though, is if you use a regular TV style splitter, you should use a DC block on the line to the FTA receiver. The more expensive spitters have blocks built in, with one line power pass that would go to the analog receiver.
Anyway, you can eventually get one of the 2150 type, but go ahead and use the 0-900 , but use a DC block to isolate the 2 power supplies. RS used to sell the DC-blocks, and some stores still have them in stock.

a guy from a local satellite dealership told me to just run a jumper from the loop out connection of the fta receiver to the analog box,is this info correct?
