2009 NBA Playoffs

Lebron left the arena without talking to reporters. The rumor mill is really going to get going now. I can see it now "Lebron was in Time Square", "Lebron was seen with Spike Lee", "Lebron was with Jay-Z."

Maybe Lebron went to Disney World since its only 20 miles away from the arena LOL

I don't recall there being a rule that says all NBA players are required to speak to reporters at all times.

The athlete has their own right whether they want to talk to reporters or not.

I think there's a rule that the players have to be available for the post game press conference. I think he will be fined.

Hey, it ain't easy earning a hundred million dollars a year...

LeBron is the only decent player on that team, they need reliable shooters.
Mo Williams, David West are very unreliable, they either hot or cold...

Either they fix this, or LeBron will be leaving Cleveland soon and join a different team.

The big 3 might need King James :) If you know what I mean..ehhehe

No.

To me, a choke is when a very good team loses to a far inferior team (see Mavericks/Warriors 2007 or the Spurs and Suns against the Rockets 1995).

This is along the lines of Blazers/Lakers 1991 or Pistons/Heat 2006- good team loses to a team that is also good.

It's not like Orlando was a low-seed ala the 1995 Rockets.

No

To me achieving the best record with 66 wins, League MVP, #1 seed, NBA champions out of the playoffs, 2 series sweeps, every expert picking you for the finals and this was the year you were to slay them, every writer drooling over the upcoming matchup and then giving up a win on your home court and sneak out of town winning one on your home court on a miracle shot? With the best player in the NBA on your team is a CHOKE.

No one has said it yet so let me be the first:

LEBRON JAMES CANNOT WIN THE BIG GAME. Heck he can't even get to that game. Did you see him choke on his foul shots? WTF?

That coach should be canned too. He has an absolute scoring machine who can take it to the hole and didnt use him. But maybe his highness was too tired?

No excuses LeBron.... Call yourself the King, do your little talc powder throw. Talk the talk you have to walk the walk.

Baby wouldnt even go to the press conference..... classless.

Grow up you big baby... You wouldnt even shake hands with the other team????

LEBRON = CLASSLESS

When you're wrong, you're wrong.

I didn't think the Magic had a chance in this series, but they showed what a great team they are.

Congrats to the Magic and their fans! :)

Also, congrats to the Cavs on a GREAT year. It was a great run, guys. Go get 'em next year! :)

Let's ALL give the Magic credit. The Cavs DIDN'T choke, the Magic were just the better team. Saying otherwise would actually be dissing the Magic.

great post Bill! :up:up

The Magic are a very good team who spent much of the year battling the Cavs and Celtics for first place. It's not a choke at all.

That was disappointing to me. I didn't like when the Pistons left the court without shaking hands with the Bulls in 1991 either. In the Piston's case, they were led by the "classless" Isaiah Thomas. In LeBron's case, it was just childish.

I don't agree that Lebron can't win the big games. Did you see Game 2? Cleveland did not lose because of Lebron. They lost because they have oafish big men and inconsistent shooters. I said it before and I'll say it again Lebron needs a wingman, and Mo Williams aint it. The way I see it either Cleveland gets Lebron that wingman or he goes somewhere else. The Cavs don't want this to turn into another Kevin Garnett situation like Minnesota had.

As far as Lebron not speaking to the press goes I'm not that concerned. He probably realizes by now that it was a mistake, but can you blame him? I get that players have a responsibility to meet with the press win or lose, but there's an old saying that if you aint got anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Who knows what Lebron might have said last night? He might have said some things about his team that you can't take back. Better to pay the fine and calm down I say.

Couldn't have said it better myself! :up

The man is a competitor and that loss stung like no other. Like you said, it was a mistake.

It was a mistake that should be given a mulligan, considering the circumstances.
