Former Indians' Owner Dies

I guess he was the one the stadium was named after.

RIP Mr. Jacobs!

Mr. Jacob's was the Indians owner from 1986-2001. He purchased the team in '86 for a cool $40 million. He was the driving force behind the team's reemergence, starting in 1994 with the newly built stadium, Jacob's Field. The construction and success of Jacob's Field also helped refurbish the downtown gateway area.

Today, Mr. Jacobs lost a battle with a long-time illness at the age of 84. Thank you for your contribution to this team and city Mr. Jacob's. But most of all, thank you for the memories!

Peace be with you! :(
