NFL coaches that are out the DOOR!!

Carroll inherited a Superbowl team. He and Bobby Grier put it in the toilet 3 years later.

Agreed!!!

On offense alone, Carroll inherited Drew Bledsoe, Curtis Martin, Terry Glenn, Ben Coates, Shawn Jefferson, Troy Brown, Dave Meggett, Keith Byars, Sam Gash and Vincent Brisby..................and won 1 playoff game in three years!!!

:up enough said.

I called that one the very day Urban came out and announced his "leave". Urban will be in the NFL within 2 years. Mark it down.

It is funny how people who claim to know about sports don't understand the difference between college and pro football.

Coaching in the NFL would probably kill the guy, but don't let that get in the way of your buckeye message board nonsense.

Let us know when you want to start the Saban back to the NFL rumor also.

Actually, I think coaching at the College ranks is MORE stressful than at the professional level. This is one of the reasons I think Urban will leave Florida to go to the NFL. Think about it....

College coaches have a 24/7, 360 day job. They have boosters to please, kids to mentor, recruits to swoon, academics to monitor and so on. (all of this is over and above a coaches job description in the NFL). At a large, college football institution, there is more pressure than on any pro-football team.

Then why aren't more of the top college coaches who gravitate to the pros successful there??

Tom Cable never met with Al Davis, kinda throws a wrench into all of the 'will be fired' reports if they never meet. Davis has reportedly just not made up his mind.

Related, Richard Seymour will become a free agent, and said he'll consider playing for 31 teams... the excluded team being the Patriots. If the Raiders don't re-sign him, that's one hell of a trade the Pats pulled off to get the 1st pick from them for him.

I doubt they will not resign him. He was a major leader in the defense and locker room.

Seymour will almost certainly get the franchise tag or transition tag if he does not agree to a long-term deal. If 2010 is indeed uncapped, teams get one franchise and two transition tags, instead of the normal one tag.
