Blindscan Menu Screen should definitely be shown, if finalized at that time in firmware. :up
It may not be the case however, which doesn't mean much if its added in a short run. DVB World already said its supported, and the STB Processor and MoBo are powerful enough to handle heavy load fast without overheating. In fact, he said: "Please guys give me the files, I want to fix these features for you as soon as I can since I want SALES, but I don't have these super signals around, and it drives me crazy!"
Did he say that? He needs signals, samples and...some time to work with them, because without having samples upfront how we can expect these features being already finalized (of course except DVB-S blindscan as you said)? Now, their Linux developers team may be new as well, and needs a bit of time to start playing smoothly. BTW, it may look premature to start placing orders on this box, we don't know much about from local testers.

but the issue is dvbworld said yes it has blindscan as noted in posts 4 & 6 but yet hasnt shown it. So saying it has blind scan but not showing it gives me doubts
I'm not worried about the PVR...others may be but I'm not. I want it to do blind scan (DVB for sure...DVB-S2 would be a plus) and to do 4:2:2 yet we have not had confirmation that it does either other than him saying "yes it does".It may not be the case however, which doesn't mean much if its added in a short run. why would he need a file for 4:2:2? All he has to do is scan in a signal that does 4:2:2 for proof. Scan it in and then give us the parameters so we can see on Lyngsat as example. Unless he is based in North America where we can scan for ourselves as proof we would have to check against something else
its pre-ordered. I had a CS8000 preordered before they were available
All I'm saying is I've been screwed (and others have too) by false info on the new receivers. I've purchased too many receivers that claim something and either it is non existant or works like crap. If something is coming down the road, then say it as that. Don't say "yes it does" and make your posts sound like a used car salesman. Heck in post 6 he makes a sales pitch.
Thats all I'm saying.....show me proof and you'll get more sales than a few guinea pigs
I checked Lyngsat and there are a couple S2 channels aimed at China...there may not be 4:2:2 there but there is S2 programming on sats aimed at China

see why I was leery? I will be PM'ing or calling Sadoun and cancelling my order. My Coolsat 8000 doesnt have blind scan or 4:2:2 capability yet it has OTA on it

An extra e-Sata port may not be required to record a high bit rate TS stream to an HD PVR, since USB 2.0 provides for theoretical 480 Mbits/s transfer rate. What's needed is to select a fast USB 2.0 chipset and fully utilize its supported bandwidth by correct MoBo design, while ensuring the box stable cool operation.
What's the max signal stream bit rate one can currently receive in NA? In what required data transfer & file recording rate it translates?

This is the lowest power consumption of any STB I have ever heard of. Nothing I know of even comes close. There must be cutting-edge technology inside.

ALi Corporation doesn't list Blind Scan feature support for its M3501 DVB-S/S2 demodulator. I understand, this info page may be incomplete, but do you have a more complete spec for the demod that lists hadware supported Blind Scan? Or Blind Scan feature in your STB is to be implemented in software? With what search step and signal parameters searched? Any optimization algorithm implemented to speed up the search? How long does it take on average for a typical satellite signals scope receivable in your area?
Sharp Microelectronics website doesn't list the Sharp 7306 DVB-S2 tuner you mentioned. Can you post some more info about this tuner and its specs, or provide a weblink to such info?
To remind the difference between similar English terms - Blindscan and Autoscan - it may be interesting to look through these threads:
Blind Search / Power Scan - a Sat STB feature that searches (at a fixed step or using a more elaborate step selection algorithm) all frequencies, all symbol rates, all polarities, all FEC's, etc. (within set limits or a series of fixed values for each parameter) for the selected satellite to find all signals emitted by its TPs.
Auto Scan - another more restrictive STB feature that searches only transponders of a selected satellite pre-entered into the Receiver Database using only parameters specified for said TPs in that Database.

I wish they'd sent Sadoun a sample ahead of the announcement. I ordered as soon as I saw it based on what the company representative said here, but I'll probably cancel unless it can be demonstrated that it does blind-scan.
I'm still waiting to see if dvbworld posts any pictures proving blind-scan or 4:2:2, but his sudden silence isn't a good sign.
