129 western arc

That's got to be a ton of people......

Just by chance I changed out my dish 500..Got rid of 2 dish set up about 2 months ago.

I have the dish 1000. Made change to get sat 118 for Eurochannel and Euronews.

Strange though..I live in south Florida but Im getting western arc sats?
110, 118, 129, 119..

Just by chance ill get the new HD channels.

Id still take 61.5 if those Voom channels were still in commision.

In a heartbeat!

but nice to see new HD additions..its about time.

Thanks. I have 119/110/129.

So what is the solution for those of us with 110, 119 and 61.5? Do I have to add a 3rd dish for 129 or 72.7 Or just wait until they move ( or mirror? ) to 61.5 ?
Just had an online chat with Dish. $15 for the service call, but they won't do it unless I replace my 510 with an HD box  Another $100 plus 24month commitment. No way! I already have 3 722s. I don't care about HD where my 510 is. I'll call once I see the channels are lit up.

Hey, I have two 622s and one 722. Our bill just went up $20 a month!

Welcome to the Club  I should have searched the forum first. Think I found my answers. So my 110/119 dish will stay as is, but Dish would replace my 61.5 with Eastern Arc? The 510 receiver isn't compatible with EA, so I'd have to replace with a 612?

The ones that won't see these channels are those with a 110/119/61.5 set up. That would be people who live on the eastern side of the country and had HD service from dish for more than a year and a half.

Humm. I've had Dish HD service in New York state for about a month and a half and that is my configuration. I guess I need an upgrade already.

Because ESPN wants a truckload of money for it.

ESPN charges more for their channels than any other company, period.

Note that DirecTV also does not carry it...

I think you missed something here... we already have ESPNU, its already broadcasted so the costs are already pushed out. Sounds to me as if DISH is the one not wanting to carry the extra signal bandwidth for it when you know damn well ESPN would rather you be watching one of their channels in awesome HD glory!

The fact that DirectTV doesn't carry it is irrelevant and not even in the discussion. I've called several times and sent several emails and will likely keep on calling and sending emails about getting this channel in HD, I sure hope others do the same! :up

I would like to know this too. I'm in the process of searching the forum but, basically, I have the same setup as you (110/119 + 61.5) and I wanted to know if the 1000.4 replaces both dishes (so that I end up with one) or just the 61.5.

Scott - Can you check with your sources to verify what I am hearing??:

That Dish is in the preliminary stages of working on plans to move all national HD from 61.5 to 72.7 and 77.

You're an installer?

There is more to it than just not wanting to turn it on. DISH must pay EXTRA to broadcast the HD channel.

You know damn well that ESPN would rather DISH and you be paying a lot more to watch their precious ESPNU in awesome HD glory!
