Hi all,

Newbie first post here. I currently have a H20-100 receiver. Is there any compelling reason to change to the H21 or h23? I use the receiver at home and also take it on the road with me in my restored GMC motorcoach. On the road I can only get the two sats for normal, not HD, channels. I am sure this has been covered before but can't seem to make the search function work well enough to find the earlier threads. Thanks for your help.

other recvrs have larger hard drives, but other than that your better off with what you have.

Here's a thread you might find interesting :

He's asking about H2x receivers, not DVR's... ;)

OP - the biggest difference is, NONE of the other models has an OTA tuner in them - you would have to add the AM21 to them have the same functionality. Or, you would have to use the OTA tuner in your TV, or an external DT tuner. (if your TV is analog) Of course, if you never use OTA signal, then I suppose it doesn't really matter, but I would think that you might in a camper...
The only other differences I believe, might be in the networking capabilities - but obviously, that isn't going to matter in your camper. Frankly if it was me, I'd just stick with the one you have.

And Jimbo the HR 21 has the same size hard drive as the HR 20. 320GB
But again were not talking HR's.

Yes but the 22's and 23's are more, I was looking at the HR series as a whole.

dishrich,

You are correct, my bad, read thru it to quickly.

.
Some HR's don't require B band converters, they are built in , and HR-20 are the only one with OTA built in, So there are more differences then just a larger hardrive.
Some even claim the HR-22 has soft HD PQ compaired to the others.

But again were not talking DVR's:)

If your posting this on MY behalf ..... I just started the differences rolling, never said that what I posted was all of them.
