Been having trouble the last few weeks when trying to play Drakes Uncharted 2. Here is the issue. I am about 3/4 of the way into the game, and sometimes when it enters a cut scene, it will hang up, or lock up the system. If I am ablre to select quit game through the XMB, it causes the system to reboot. If I can't select anything, I have to reboot the system with the front panel button press. It may or may not happen at the same cut scene. The next time it may last for a few hours of game play, and not happen. It's totally random. Then it started hanging up when the game would be booting up. The little dagger woud be spinning, and the music would get stuck, just like a scratched record would. I don't see any scratches on the disc. The PS3 and the game are software current. It's the only game this happens with. Any ideas? Thanks.

Had a friend take it home and he no issues with it. I'm with you though. Thinking bad disk. Thanks.

Try deleting the game data and reinstalling the game, that fixes a lot of problems with Uncharted 2.

Just make sure you don't delete any of your saved game data. Go into Game Data Utility and delete anything you find there, then put the game back in and let it reinstall.

Beyond that, I have heard of problems like this with that game - for me, it was always the same place, but didn't happen on every playthrough.

I did that the other day. Seemed to work fine, the it did it again. Really frustrating. Now all the data and pictures in Drakes book is blurred out. I am at the part in "The Reunion" chapter where you have to pick up the objects and place them in from of the carvings. Well, I have done that, they sink down and open the doors to the spinning thingys with the symbols. When I go back to the book to see which ones I need to select, my friggin book is blurred. WTF!!!!!

You should have bought a Xbox 360. :D Sorry couldn't resist.

If you figure out what is causing it for sure, post back in this thread. I am curious.

Will do. When I saw the book info was blurred out, I went to reload from the last check point to do the room over and see if my book was normal, it hung up again. I'll try again tonight. What's an Xbox???????????:D

That's what my PS3 is for is to watch movies. ;):D
I agree, actually. We bought a PS3 because it was the best BR player on the market at time and less expensive than some stand alone BR players. We've had it for 2 years and I have only played 2 games on it. We use it for just about everything else it can do.

I am an old school Atari and Nintendo player with simple controllers. I get frustrated trying to figure out the controllers on these new gaming consoles, and I get motion sickness after playing for about 1/2 hour.

Don't XBox 360 and PS3 pretty much have the same games? If so, what makes Xbox better for gaming?

Actually, most objective people (including many year-end reviews I read) agree that the PS3 now has the better catalog of exclusive titles, especially after the last few months.

If you're looking at cross-platform games, it seems that most of the time the 360 gets the better version, with Final Fantasy XIII being the major exception.

The 360 is better for gaming because likely more of your friends have one, and it has a better online social/community thing going for it.

PS3 has had a strong lineup for the last quarter or so, but that's also because the last 2 titles that people have been waiting for since it launched 3 years ago were released - FF13 and GOW3. The couple friends that did actually buy one in the last few years that don't use it only as a BD player cited those games specifically.

I may start getting into some games on my PS3. What would you recommend for someone still learning the controls? It can be sports or action.

I did buy MLB The Show 09 last year. Get beat every time I play the computer and cannot hit the ball for the life of me.

I also borrowed Tom Clancy Vegas 3 and completed the whole game.

It cam with Metal Gear Solid 4. I cannot even get past the first scene and still have a hard time with the controller. Plus, it makes me nauseous (motion sick)
