I did it, they are coming

The gounding block has everything to do with it when the wires from the dish aren't making a connection.
Anytime there is an odd even issue, its Voltage related.
LNB's, Multiswitch, faulty grounding blocks.

It wasn't the LNB, and it wasn't the WB68, He changed the Grounding block and it was fixed.
Yes, I understand that.
Had the Ground block been in good shape the problem would not have been there.
That being said, the connection was the fault for your bad signal, all it is is a barrel to put the two wires together, so essentially it was a bad barrel.

My point was still valid, you can have a perfectly running set up without a ground block, you just talking your chances without one.

Remember the old saying that the more connection points the more of a chance for trouble .....
There you are ..... No I'm not saying to go without a Ground Block, just pointing out that it can provide another connection point.
In your case, it was the culprit.

.
Exactly. But an ODD signal of Zeros and Evens 97% indicate an issue with a bad connection from a Barrel connection,LNB or Multiswitch.
Alinement wouldn't cause an odd even issue.

The ground block was brand new. Just got a bad one.

He put up a Slimline with 4 brand New Wires running to a 4 way Grounding Block, To a WB68.
But yes its all worked out. As I stated the grounding block had 1 bad barrel connector.
It just so happend he decided to swap the LNB first ,thinking that was the odd even issue. Well it wasn't, So he Swapped out the WB68 same deal didn't fix the issue, So all that was left was the 4 way grounding block, Swapped that out, and Bam problem solved.

He was professional, I've never seen so many 100% on my signal screen before. So he must have done something right.:)

Directv is required to use a grounding block, so is E*. If they don't then they aren't doing a proper install.

Yes the system works fine without it sure, But the Idea is to have the system grounded before the Multi switch.
And Also the Shortest distance.
This is also a Township code regulation.

Soon!
I have the 722 for 1 more month.
They are sending a box for the 622.
I dropped down to Sliver HD only pack,Which by the way sucks.!sadroll
I don't know how you HD only guys do it. I can't imagine only having the bronze version.:(

Actually my first guess would have been the LNB

I never said to NOT use a Grounding Block, just pointed out that is makes for more connections and potential trouble.

Hemi I am now all of three weeks with Direct love it so far we have 3 x hr23 and 1 x h23.
Let me ask did you go with Directs 5.99 protection plan?

My installer said for first 90 days it wasnt needed that they cover all calls free.
Hmm that has me thinking I bet I have to pay 19 dollars to get a box replaced?
ANyway wondered if you went with the plan?

OK, Now how again to I turn down the bright blue lights on the front of the receiver?

hold the right button on the front of the box around the light then while holding the right one tap the left one and it will fade with each press until its not on at all.

Yes I signed up for the plan about a week before I got HD installed.

The main reasons I like it, is with all the Equipment involved with HD, Like the Slimline ajustments, the Multi switches,Receivers, I like to know for $72 a Year all these can be replaced at no charge or hidden commitments.

When I just had the SD equipment, I didn't find a use for it.
PhaseIII dish is about the most simple dish to install, And I own about 3 of them, as well as a few powered Multi Switches.
SD receivers are a dime a dozen . And I have about 5 of those, so Protection plan wasn't needed.

WELCOME BACK buddy. you plan to get an HR24 anytime soon? when its available for purchasing of course.
