Pure conjecture. Perhaps true, perhaps not.

Sandra

It's common sense. NOT conjecture. Ask ANY lawyer.

If you had HEARD that your boyfriend was cheating from someone you knew, you wanna make sure...so you do your OWN investigation or hire someone to do...plain and simple.

Same difference here. The league more than likely wanted to make sure BEFORE they make a move.

Cross the Browns off the list. NO WAY IN HELL he'll end up here. The city would revolt, riot and burn down before that happens.

the browns are still among the others that are interested according to espn:eek:. the suspension i was expecting but not the steelers trying to trade him for a #1 draft pic. good QB's are hard to find. hopefully they don't put the franchise in a whole for the next few years due to this move they're trying to make. he's still young and he has helped you win 2 superbowls. i wouldn't do this yet.

...and I would agree. But come on, think of it THIS way....

...you have a MAJOR company and one of their bigger employees get's into in trouble..but there are no chargers. You are gonna tell me that that major company would NOT hire a private investigation company to make sure they are seeing the same thing?
Not if the company policy gives the CEO the autonomy to suspend employees based solely on the information contained in a police report. And, that policy was agreed to by the employee's union!!

The bottom line is that any assumptions about how far the league's PI's might have investigated, what they may or may not have found above and beyond the police report, and how incriminating it was, is just that...an assumption.

You don't know, nor do I. Anyone is entitled to their own conjecture, however. ;)

Holmgren's rosy honeymoon with the city would come to an abrupt end if he brought this (alleged) rapist to town.

i hear ya :) but at the end of the day most folks just want to win.you'd be or may not be surprised how many people would be willing to turn the other cheek on issues like these just to bring in a 2 time superbowl winning QB. we'll see where he ends up because what many thought wouldn't happen including myself now seems like a huge possibility. WOW!

NEVER mentioned WHAT they found, IF they found and how deep the investigation was. Just mentioned that MORE than likely they ran their OWN investigate AND they have TONS more info than we have.

AGAIN, not assumption...but fact.

But, you are entitled to arguing any and every point made....it is your right.;)

I can agree with that. Goodell has shown that he "don need no steenkin bayes!"

I have heard a couple of folks mention that the Raiders were interested for their #1 ...where did you get this? I would love to see a link stating this because I would love to see if this was started by the Raiders or just rumors....

round and round...

I'm not even arguing with you, I'm saying neither one of us has any idea the extent of the investigation, or what they found or didn't find. That's not an argument.

But go ahead and keep arguing that if you feel the need...

OK.....went ONLINE to the sports talk radio in Oakland and the report is Nnamdi and the Raiders #8 for Roethlisberger and the Steelers #18 pick....!!

WHOA!!

A possible trade to Oakland!!

Now, that's worse puinshment than the suspension. The only thing worse would be a trade AND rescind the suspension... ;)

I don't expect the Steeler's to trade Ben, but it would be dumb to not listen.

Steeler's would be even dumber to trade him.

The Steeler's have high standards, YES, but why would they try to get rid of him if EVERYONE else would be interested in having him. (20 out of 32 teams SHOULD be calling).

If hes good enough for others to want, then that should tell the Steeler's something.

Polian: Colts won't discipline Foster

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian says the team will not discipline defensive tackle Eric Foster, who faces a sexual assault lawsuit.
AFC South blog

Kuharsky ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky writes about all things AFC South in his division blog.

• Blog network: NFL Nation

A 22-year-old hotel receptionist is suing Foster, claiming that he sexually assaulted her in his room at an Indianapolis hotel before the AFC Championship Game on Jan. 24.

Polian said Wednesday that the team has no reason to discipline Foster because police investigated the incident and prosecutors later decided not to file charges.

He says Foster remains with the team and will participate in its offseason program.

The Associated Press is not naming the woman because it generally does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault

IF there is ANY meat to this story....it will not matter WHAT Polian wants, thinks or would like....
