Roethlisberger accussed of sexual assult...AGAIN!

So, what is this, the 4th or 5th time you tried to make this point? Are you trying to get a rise out of someone? Anyways, you even contradicted your own theory in this statement. If the NFL was "against whites" why weren't they pressured into suspending Coach Cable?

Case and point: the NFL's stance on Roethlisberger isn't a racist one. It's because he's been a part of continued off-the field distractions. (Multiple rape accusations, being photographed drunken and disorderly with pictures plastered over the internet and so on.) This is not the type of image the NFL wants to portray of a Super Bowl winning QB, black, white or purple!

It's a valid point, black white or purple. So Ray Lewis can be involved in covering for his friends in one possible murder, but not two? I understand Goodell was not the commissioner then, but the point stands.

Roethlisberger is (or was) one of the faces of the league. Cable has a face only a mother can love. Two different things.

The previous administration was far more lenient than Goodell. It would be a different story if Ray did this today.

Especially for Cleveland fans...just like they want Roethlisberger out for a long time, but welcome Delonte West back with open arms. Only one of those two were actually charged with anything, and it wasn't Big Ben. ;)

As I said before, the line in the sand is VERY subjective, based a lot on what team you root for.

I do not care about Roethlisberger either way. And as far as Cable, alot of things do not add up. ESPECIALLY when the assistant coach took the job BACK as part of the Raider organization. WHY would someone do that? I don't know about you, but if I was assulted by someone at work and my boss did not fire them...I sure as hell would not take the job back....regardless of what they offer!

There is a lot we don't know about the Cable situation. Cannot assume anything.

Sandra

There is no assumption in the fact that the assistant coach came back to the Raiders after the assult....then quit once he decided to file a civil suit.

AND, it's over and done with because Goodell sided with the Raiders.

Give me a break. Where is Delonte West's victim? He's not a (alleged) rapist like ben. There's a world of difference.

We (Cleveland fans) weren;t clamoring for Dante Stallworth's return to our team, were we?

Do you hear what you're saying? What Delonte West did is OK, because even though he had a cache of loaded weapons driving through traffic, he didn't actually shoot anyone? OK. The law disagrees.

West was indicted, Roethlisberger was not even charged. You're right, there's a world of difference.

I never said what Delonte West did was OK. Stop putting words in my mouth. I said ben is a (alleged) rapist and West's crime was victimless. Big difference.

Please think about what you just said here for a second...

Sandra
Whats your point? The criminal justice system is imperfect. Just ask the Brown and Goldman families. ben should be thanking his lucky starts that the incompetent police department completely botched this rape investigation.

Q: The night Delonte got pulled over and the cops found guns in his possession, was anyone hurt?

A: The answer, without a doubt is no.

Q: The nightS Ben got drunk in bars with underage women and disappeared with them in locked bathrooms, did anything foul happen?

A: I don't think anyone can say with 100% accuracy yes, or no.

*Conclusion, that is the difference between the two cases. Like Sky said, in one instance there was not a victim. In another, there may or may not have been. According to the law, he wasn't found guilty. But on the other hand, neither was OJ. Out of respect for the law, I will not call Ben a rapist, but if I had a daughter or pet sheep, I would absolutely NOT allow her around him out of my own skepticism.

You're a bigger man than me, then. I have no respect for botched police-work done by star-struck cops. None. You think you, me, or anyone else would have received that treatment from law enforcement had a victim come out of that bar and accused us of rape? No way (and nor should have we).

This is what I mean about the very vague 'line in the sand' Goodell's suspension of Roethlisberger created. As a Cleveland fan you can rationalize that since West did not actually shoot anyone with all of those loaded guns, what Roethlisberger did is worse.

It's totally subjective, others can disagree. ;)

OK this is my last post in this thread, all you people are ranting that he is a rapist, alleged rapist, you even compared him to O.J. and Tiger Woods.

The man was never charged or arrested, leave it go, it's all over. The Clown fans can hope and even pray that he might get more so your team might actually win more than one game every ten years but it's not gonna happen.

Both are true though.

He was alleged to have raped someone (again). He was neither acquitted or indicted, so alleged is still accurate. Poor police work (like failing to secure the crime scene, and the video recording of the evening from the bar) generated to much reasonable doubt for the DA to be successful prosecuting. That is not that different than stupid policemen in the OJ case creating the reasonable doubt that set OJ free.
