Team Summit Pics Video and Live Recap!

Those of you that are wanting that Mesh type dish, you can already get covers that do the same thing and don't disrupt your signal levels such as those for College football teams and so on.. I've been looking to get me one for my team before the season fires up.

I hope the SlingPlayer iPad app is a universal app that works on both the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. I'd hate to have to pay for the same app twice.

Also I hope that mesh dish isn't too expensive of an upgrade for current customers. I get nervous when I hear my dishes above my bedroom swaying in the middle of the night.

thank you for answering the question scherrman appreciate it:):up.i have the 922 so wouldnt affect me.

I don't think it will be needed for 922 owners. They understand how to use their equipment a lot better.

Also scarry to think about the fact that I have a camera setup on my 922 which is looking at me... is someone from DISH connecting and looking in watching me watch TV in my underware?
Doesn't Nielsen pay a subset of it's survey group to put a camera on the TV and do just that? (I don't mean in their underwear!) The idea is to measure who (and how many) are actually watching the TV, as opposed to going to the bathroom or making love in another room or otherwise leaving the TV on while it's not actually in use.

I also hereby predict that the SD duplication of HD nationals on EA will soon disappear. (Note that HD locals are already not duplicated on EA.)[/QUOTE]

That's one way to clear room off for more channels.

For those who are wondering what a "mesh" dish is like:

I forgot about those old mesh dishes. I guess they have been around a while. I will admit, the new dish ones look pretty stylish. That may be just my opinion though.

Lets not get too excited about the mesh dishes. The main reason for the mesh dish in the old days was to reduce the amount of wind pressure against the dish. The mesh will cause a weaker signal and increase rain fade.

I know a few folks who have been testing the mesh dishes, and the signal is just a few points lower then a regular solid DISH.

This mesh is really fine, not like the old mesh satellite dishes where you could almost push a pencil through.

It will help with Wind issues greatly, but should not cause any issues at all with performance.

I am very interested to get more information on the "Free HD for Life" that is being mentioned. I have the Welcome Pack currently but might be tempted to move up to Family or the lowest AT pack to get some HD other than my locals. My fear is that come August or some time in the not so distant future the AT prices will be changed to make up for "Free HD for Life".

Here is the Sling Mutliroom Extender for the 922. This will give you TV2 in full HD from the 922.

No price announced and the release date is now "later this year."

One can can only hope but I seriously doubt it...most other apps that have been upgraded for the iPad have given no such breaks for previous iPhone/iTouch owners.

It appears that the iPod Slingplayer app is free for DISH customers, so I am assuming that if its a seperate iPad app that it too will be free for DISH customers...

The program is a giveaway as it helps keep you a DISH customer and they also hope you show your friends how cool DISH Network is by showing of Sling on your iPhone and iPad.

BTW here is a pic of the new HD FREE FOR LIFE brochure...

I hope someone can get me a full copy of this one. :)

Has there been any talk about apps for Blackberry? I have a Storm2 and Sling doesn't even have a fully functioning version of their mobile app for it.

Will the new USB version of the Slingplayer have any inputs for other audio / video devices or is the Sling HD Pro still the only product with that feature? Even better would be a way to add that functionality to the 922 (so you could sling your DVD player, etc.)?? I would think that would make it a huge selling point if they are trying to make their DVR's the centerpiece of the home theater that you can access everything through.

Here are the terms on the FREE HD FOR LIFE for new customer...

I am wondering if after 2 years from now if you canceled paperless billing if they would start charging you for HD again...
