So they would have to come back out or is that something I can purchase and do myself?
If you got Directv to give you the box, installer coming out to hook it up, it would be installed.

If you got your box say at Best Buy, I don't think they are included in those yet, so most likely you would have to purchase one.

Possibly Directv could send you one out, I'm not completely sure on this one, maybe Stonecold could help out.

When the time comes, if you have any issues, just PM me, I'll help you out.

Latest word is Best Buy is phasing them out, Costco too.

Solid Signal has the band stop filter on their site for $4. It's cheap. Ask the tech to leave an extra one or two with you if needed, they'll probably not bat an eye.

Now if you are adding a H23, that can do MRV, so perhaps you'd be better to get an extra DECA box than a stop filter. Unless you want that receiver left off the MRV network? Same thing, explain what is up, perhaps the tech will give you an extra. If not they sell for around $30-$40 I think.

YEa I actually have one H23 and IPlan adding at least 2 if not 3 more. GUess I will ask the Tech Guy tomorrow.

First attempt for the install was a no go. The installer can out and did not have a SWiM that he could install. For some reason he thought all customers already had SWiM installed. Next attempt will be Wednesday.

did you pay for the upgrade to swim recievers? or just getting the MRV?

Damn I paid the 99, and a 49 fee for install, But anyway it went well, I am up and running..Working great..

This is what happens with techs dont pay attention to work orders and start assuming things.

Hi, thanks for all of your input here, you're a big help to all of us. My 1st attempt to have DECA/SWM installed SWM was not on the work order at all. I have another install set up for tomorrow and my copy of the work order says "Whole home install" but no mention of SWM. I'm assuming that it's included but since I have 10 tuners I will need a SWM 16 and I know he won't have that. If this doesn't work out I will just give up and use my home network. Lots of people who need SWM 16 are in the same boat. The computer that generates the work order is not adding the SWM 16. It's not the CSRs fault or even the installers in this case.

It might be the fault of the warehouse of distubuters not putting swim on the trucks. As i seen a couple in teh situation where the swim box is not checked in our billing systme meaning that they should know to bring swim right now I been noting it on the order notes for customers ( i normallly dont take orders for this stuff but been handling supervisor calls about it.) thises non swm issues will be reslove eventually .

Notation on equipment

If recivers are replaced = 24 month commitment
if no recievers are replaced aka they are all swm then no comittment.

That is the first conscienus from my boss but she is double checking

Well I finally got a rep to state MRV was available. now the downside of the BS. Here is my set up HR22, R22 and SWiM.

Here is what this rep told me

1. $99 for equipment
2. I had to ask 3 times if that was the only fee before she dropped the $49.95 Service Fee and $3.00 per month fee.
3. This is the best one on H or HR receivers are compatible. So thats right my R22 is not a valid receiver and I need to have it upgraded to a HDDVR.
4. Cost to upgrade my R22 to a HD DVR $199.00. Of course no guarantee on what I will get which means I may get a smaller capacity unit which will not make me happy.
5. The best one of all. For $499 I can purchase a receiver out right from Directv but they can't guarantee what unit I will get.

I will assume the rep I spoke to has no clue and it is time to play CSR Roulette. I have no issues with the $99 charge but the $49.95 service for something they wont let me do does bother me.

Any suggestions?

Why would you ever trade in the R22 for an HD DVR. The R22 is a HD DVR when you have another HD receiver on your account. The R22 is a valid receiver for the MRV setup.

Swing and a miss, Strike two. The installers came back out today and guess what. They still did not have a SWiM switch to do the install.

I don't want to give up my R22 unless it is for an HR24. It appears roulette here I come.

Problem is that you dont have a hddvr on the account and a r22 will not count even if a h2x was on there to provide hd . so you would at the very lieast need to go down to a best buy and drop 199 to get a hddvr first.

He said in his post that he has an HR22 as well.
