Azbox HD Premium Plus

Latest Firmware 4991

Has anyone tried the latest firmware? With the latest firmware, I am unable to get youtube to play. It simply says wait connecting.

Latest Firmware 4991

The latest firmware appears to have improved the picture quality! It has moved channels around on the satellite! However, they are still there! No big deal!

fixed udp stream feature | improved recording process | improved multimedia playback | fixed hang when playing mkv with dts tracks

I hope they fixed the inability to record high bit rate videos.

Reformat/Factory Reset

With the fact, that, after installing IPTV, and I assume that my receiver may be experiencing issues with remnants, I have saved my channel list to a USB memory stick. Now, I am unable to find the procedure to either reformat, and, or, simply do a factory reset. Then, I will reinstall the latest firmware? ? ? And, then, install my channel list? ? ?
Thanks!

i found the problem with the azbox premium plus power units. The 82mf, 420v capacitor in the unit is faulty. When it dies, it shorts a circuit that blows the thermal fuse too.

Fix: You must be good at soldering as you will need to remove the heatsink that covers the whole component board.
1. Replace the 82mf, 420v capacitor with a new capacitor of thesame rating. +- 20% tolerance on the capacitance will work but make sure the voltage is greater than or equal to 420V.
2. Replace the thermal fuse. Be careful with soldering the fuse as the heat from the soldering iron might blow the fuse. You might need a 10w soldering iron.

I just repaired my power unit and it is back working like magic.

Enjoy,

So it would be wise to replace the 82mf prior to dying to avoid the thermal fuse to blow then.

Sanjap.. Did u buy the 82mf at Radio Shack? If so what's the part #

Nope! No done yet!!:(

Can I ask what specifically you tried to record? Is there any chance that the recording is OK but the problem is that the AZbox can't playback the file? Just wondering if you tried transferring the file to a PC to see if it would playback.

Some SD and HD content record and playback fine, but the high bit rate HD channels do record, but breakup and freeze on playback. Yes, I transferred recorded file to the PC and using VLC to play back and I get the same playback errors as on the AZBox. What's your experience?

Could you tell me what specifically you are recording that won't play back? I've noticed that the AZbox can't playback some high bit rate recordings over the network although haven't transferred the file to the box to see if it would playback directly. I'd like to duplicate your findings but can't do so unless you tell what you can't record. Thus far, I've been able to record/playback everything with my Ultra, which includes some high bit rate feeds from HDnet a couple of weeks ago when it was ITC although I admittedly don't currently record a lot of content. If what you are recording doesn't belong in public, you can always PM me or post in the WUT forum.
