OTHER GT Media V7 Plus STB

Now that I finally got my dishes and satty locks. I'm looking to take full advantage of my STBs capabilities. I seem to can't find any good resources (in english) pertaining to North American use.
If anyone has pertinent knowledge, such as setting up EPG, DVR, external harddrive use, etc. I'd really appreciate it. I don't want to "experiment" and lose my current operations as I'm receiving great quality sigs on many birds.

I have a V8 Nova (Blue) and I'm assuming the capabilities are similar; for EHD you just plug in a compatible USB drive (or a flash drive will work). Can't recall if formatting is required.

Seems like most services don't have an EPG. BVN on 113 does, as well as some of the services on 97 Ku. I'm not a C-band guy anymore so can't advise on those satellites.
