Is the video going to be a direct digital feed from the 722k, or will the sling adapter compress the crap out of it like it does to send video over the internet? IMHO no point in streaming "HD" to a $2000 TV if it is compressed anymore than Dish already compresses it.

I have Homeplug in my house but I chose to use the adapters and not the Homeplug in the 722. What I mean is I changed the password and use a adapter with Ethernet into the 722 because the speed was terrible trying to use the integrated homeplug in the 722. And I have an adapter at the TV I want to sling to. So I hope that when I plug in the Sling Receiver and connect the Ethernet it uses that instead of its integrated Homeplug.\
Edit: Maybe I could get around it by connecting a different power supply without the Homeplug built in. I have the 722 plugged into a power strip, but it had enough of a trickle to get a connection but the speed was so slow. Directly into the wall wasn't very fast either. Maybe if the SR can't get an IP from the router it will revert to the ethernet. But I feel that any wired or wireless connections should trump Homeplug because if you connecting that way you know what you are doing.

Take a look at the AC Adapter photo - Notice the Ethernet port on it. If you want to use HomePlug run the included Ethernet cable from the AC adapter to the Ethernet port on the receiver. If you don't want to use Homeplug, just don't use that plug. I can't imagine why the port would be on the AC adapter, if that's not how it works.
For some reason I can't see the first set of pictures. And I can kind of see what you are talking about from the thumbnail. So, yes, that would work. The box just sees the Ethernet and should connect to the network that way. Actually if it was configurable to actually change the default password on the AC adapter Homeplug (the 722 doesn't allow it, making that connection unsecured) then I can just use the AC adapter and not sure my wall plug. The problem is that somehow even through the surge protector the 722 can see a trickle of data from a Homeplug connected to my router. So I used another wall plug instead and change the passwords on the wall plugs so the 722 doesn't get a connection through its plug and defaults back to the ethernet.
Granted I've never used it, but HomePlug in general has always seen pretty sketchy in my mind. Just the chance of their being interference due to the juice going through the lines or the wires themselves. It just doesn't sound very stable.
Now I can see the pictures. Looks like it might have a SlingLink Turbo 1 port on the AC adapter. Might be able to use the utility to set the password, that would rock.
Scott having a 922 and thinking of adding the sling adapter to my 722k, will this unit see both and allow me to choose which on to watch?

So, this is kind of a quasi "whole home dvr" pending that you have a sling receiver at every viewing location?
So you could use two sling extenders on two different hd tvs in your house and be able to watch the same thing on tv2 on both tvs? If so , this would be like a whole house dvr. If so ,I could add two of these boxes on my bedroom and my kid's room tv and lose my two extra receivers and save $14.00 a month.

This also means that Dish will be able to feed 4HD tvs with two 722/722k receivers with sling adapters or 922 receivers, and two sling receivers. The $17 fee on the second duo receiver is not looking so bad anymore.
Hopefully this is well implemented and they decide not to add additional made up fees.

I don't think anyone at Dish ever said that, to my knowledge, but a lot of posters on this forum have said it, and are wrong.
This is DISH we are talking about . They are the KING OF FEES. So I can only imagine that if they release this it will have some kind of MRV fee like DIRECTV has. Maybe $4.00 a month? I only hope this isn't true. I did see a picture on the echostar knowledge base of the CES that shows a picture of the menu of the sling extender. In it they show a picture of the receivers and which one you can connect to. I only wonder if this allows you the different tvs you can connect the sling extender to.
