and maybe if D* lets me I can transfer the spare H24 to them so they don't have to pay for one with their upgrade

They won't

he understood what had Happend and said very few people have authority to waive that fee, I then said well I know you record our conversations and I confirmed it many times and that's the reason why I signed up! So he took all the information and was going to escalate the issue to the proper people that would review the call and see what Happend and someone would call me back. So I have been waiting Day 2 now so who knows when they call me back, now I have no TV cause I cancelled E* so I'm SOL right now which kind of sucks. I'm worried now what else was messed up on the order so I don't know where to go from here, might just have to get FIOS or Cable.

Call back and tell them that you have waited 2 days for a return phone call to get what you were promised the first time.
If they say they can not approve that then tell them to get you somebody that can or you will be calling Fios when you get off the phone.

I have received email confirmations of the 2nd HDDVR being added for no cost. I think it went through. They are sending it drop ship for a self install.

F'ing retarded.
Why not just have the installer bring 2 HD/DVRs and be done with it.
Not only would it be better customer service, it would save them the shipping fees.

I swear, DirecTV needs to pull their head up out of their ass.

That must be it!

I thought they were mumbling into the phone. It was the position of their head during the conversation.

Cool!

Joe

Thats makes me want to yell at them, I've been a customer for quite sometime and I had to fight to get one for free. I wanted another and all that they claimed was $99 was the best they could do.

Hemi I sending you a PM on this matter as I now I can tell you something with out you saying it out loud .

Damn I just scheduled my install with 2 DVRs but they are charging me $199 for the second DVR.

Call them back and see if you can get it changed before the the install.
If not, cancel and then call them back and redo everything.

Once it is installed, it will be to late.

Again please stop spreading bad information

Yes, I am a fountain of misinformation and you have told me a billion times.

Sorry if I am mistaken on this.
I guess I better step up my game if I am going to be in the presence of Mr Perfect......oh wait that is a different wrestling superstar.

Your Signature is quite funny!

If its Free Let you do your Job?

I wouldn't Exactly Call it free, Since I'm signing 2 years of my life to D* while paying for 2 years of service on equipment that not even mine!
Since your getting paid and I'm paying for it, the customer has the right to look out after his own personal property.

I was mistaken on that issue and apologize.

I have been told one year by CSR in the past but I think now that was just on replacing defective receivers where the customer did not have the service protection.

Not paying 2 years on equipment, you are paying for a service for 2 years.
Go ahead and buy the equipment, your monthly bill does not change.
Not to mention, your contract will be extended the same if you put the equipment they give to you in yourself.
Only way to not extend the contract is to buy the equipment and take care f the install yourself.

Not to mention what is so bad about the contract? Do you plan on get rid of your TV?
Seeing as you are on this forum, I doubt it.

Now that you brought this off topic, 99.9% of the self installs out there although they may not be done poorly, are done wrong (as in not to spec).
Then one day a tech has to go out there to do an upgrade or service call and we are expected to bring it to code or risk getting back charged.
This could easily turn a $15 upgrade that should take 30 minutes in to a 2 hour job where we are paying more in materials then we make. (and yes this has happened more then once).

I'm not sure what your even talking about.

Bottom Line Your install is not free.
As much as you want to circle around facts!

If we are Signing 2 year commitments, Paying for Equipment leases while paying for service.
Its by far NOT free!

Our local cable company installs ALL the Equipment, Gives you all of the Equipment(5 HD DVRs if you want) FREE!
And NO COMMITMENT!
OH and If something breaks on the eqiupment that I don't own the Cable companys Fixes that for free!
This is what I call a free Install!

Sorry, I wouln't want you installing my D* service.
If you don't even know what D* Lease Terms are, then how do you explain to your customers right before they sign that Yellow paper about their commitment?

Plus your telling satellite guys member to Raise He^& to customer service reps about free upgrades? Really??
A company that you make over a Claimed $50,000 a year off of should be treated with a little bit more respect.

Sorry , But there are alot of people out of work that would love to have your job.
If I was an installer, I'd let the Home Owner follow me around untill his legs fell off. Half your Job is dealing with people!
If it wasn't for that customer, where would you be?
If it wasn't for D* where would you be?

Then go to the cable company if it is such a good deal.

As far as you not wanting me to do an install at your house, that does not bother me at all.
No need to be sorry as I won't loose sleep.
However, you would be lucky to have me or somebody just like me at your house doing an install as my work is neat and to code.
But if you base the fact if the installer knows the service agreement inside and out on if you want him mounting something to your house then you are not to bright so I am probably happier that I will never do an install at your house then you are. I mean honestly, would you allow the CSR on the other end of the phone mount a dish to your house?

I like D* , Just don't strut around like your installing everyone equipment for free, Cause your not.
You should know enough about the lease agreement that its a 24 month commitment and not 12.
Also its not hard to install a system to code, so I don't see the need to brag,
Tons of installers are in this Forum, and I bet they all do their installs up to code as well.
But they also know that when it comes time for the customer to sign the work order, Whats in it!

I always knew the new install was 2 years.
Sorry for making a mistake on the upgrade agreement.
I was corrected by stonecold and I am pretty sure both of us got past it.
You just can't seem to. In fact you really don't have anything else worth saying so you just keep repeating that over and over again like a broken record.

So on that note, I am going to sleep, you have fun repeating yourself some more.
