Favorite iPad APP

Can you use GoToMyPC on an ipad? I use Logmein app which is free and works great. If I need a file while away that I have on my PC at home, I just use Logmein and work the file. Whats cool is for anything I need to do on the ipad using windows OS, I just access the Logmein and go to work on it. It's a bit slow and inefficient, but I've even made edit chages in Sony Vegas on my ipad.

Drop box is interesting for people who don't have a web server but I do and have ample storage with Host Rocket. I use it to upload images, one 640x480 jpg every 5 seconds from my security cameras.

I have a web server, but dropbox works seamlessly without having to do anything except install it and store files in your dropbox folder(s). And your pc/Mac does not have to be on to make changes. When you add in version control and the ease of sharing with multiple users AND it's iPad (& android & smartphone access) it is a winner. Docs to go premium on the iPad is the first program I have found that truly takes advantage of its power.

These are my favourite ipad application
SiriusXM (latest iPad version is awesome)
Pandora
iBooks
SatelliteGuys
TeacherPal
Geometry Tutor
I like all the application very much.

wypall x60

I looked at iBooks, and while the reader is good, I'll stick with the Kindle reader, since all of my books work on all platforms, iPad, droid, pc, and kindle.

The Sirius app is very nice.

I am still trying to find a good seating chart app. That would be so nice for my classes.

Have you looked at this? smart seat

A cool one I just downloaded is called SkiTracks. For those that snow ski a lot it keeps track of all of your stats: calories, distance, speed, location, ex

Mine are...

The SatelliteGuys App... (I am always using this one! Our license is coming up for renewal next month and this is one I am very happy to write a fat check to. :))
USA Today - Good News App with lots of features.
DishPointer AR Pro - Everytime I meet with someone and we talk satellites this is one app I pull out and show off. And now that it works on the iPad2 it really rocks.
SqueezePad - I love my Logitech Squeezebox... and now I always have it with me. Squeezepad emulates a Logitech Squeeze box giving you all the features of a real Squeezebox
Netflix - A movie or TV show ina snap and it looks damn good!

One of my favorites that is NO LONGER a favorite is the Slingplayer App for the iPad.

The recent update disabled the viewing from Slingbox Pro devices... These boxes worked FINE in earlier versions of the software. Now this app has made a majority of my Slingboxes useless and I am very pissed about it. All along they said that the Pro would be support (along with the Solo and Pro HD) and to see them drop the Pro without warning when it was working is just plain wrong.

Scott- Slingbox Pro HD still works. I only bought that because they did the same thing with Slingbox classic to me last year. But I had to admit at the time my old classic PQ sucked compared to this new Pro HD. When I was forced to make the upgrade I was debating to get the PRO SD version but finally decided to go with the HD. IF they disabled the Pro version, I guess I made the right decision. Its always a huge risk to buy older technology.

Yes the Slingbox Pro HD does work... but the Slingbox Pro does not.

Note: If you have a Slingbox PRO, Slingbox AV, Slingbox TUNER, or Slingbox Classic, you must upgrade your Slingbox. The Slingbox SOLO and Slingbox PRO-HD are the only devices that can stream at the iPad’s higher resolution.

*SlingPlayer Mobile requires use of a Slingbox SOLO or PRO-HD.
It was working before the update, no reason beside trying to make everyone upgrade hardward for why it does not work now.

I can't bring myself to pay them for the same software or the third or fourth time. :)

Mike this is worse, much worse! They are obsoleting the hardware which is a lot more expensive than the app. Still, I have to say, I love my sling box and the HD version is now perfect HD video with LTE. It can't get any better except for control working from touch screen.

Very nice! About time Sling Media had a real competitor. Hope the PQ is as good. With the option to add the external hard drive it has a nice upgrade path to a DVR as well.

Anyone have a Vulkano box I can dial into from my iPad and test out? (Send me username and pw to test then change the PW when I am done)

I am thinking about ordering one. I like that you can program your own remotes, then I will be able to watch my FTA box again from remote. :D :D

Don, what did you end up going with in the end for a remote desktop app? I've started using Splashtop but it appears to just be for when you are on the same network as the computer you are remoting to. This why it's $5 and Logmein is $30?

Recently picked up an iPad 2, enjoying it. Have my sights set on a Moto Bionic, but with it releasing close to when iPhone 5 info should be leaking/releasing, might as well wait and see what it has to offer.

I have the older one called that HAVA. It is not as good as the Vulkano. The PQ within my own network is good, but the PQ outside the network is upconverted blurry SD. I hear the Vulkano is much better. The Vulkano APP works with the HAVA box on the iPad, so I do use the Vulkano APP instead of the HAVA APP. The PQ through the Vulkano APP is much better than on the HAVA APP
