Well my original Vbox X install finally had it's first major hiccup yesterday. I fired up my system yesterday afternoon trying to catch a ball game of 4 and the count was WAY off and ALL the positions that I had saved were gone? Tried a reboot but it was still horked up. Messed with it while reading the manual and couldn't figure out how to make it come back so I just parked it on the east limit and reset it then put the sat locations back in. Good thing I had a list to do that from cuz as it is that reprogram only took me about 5 minutes to complete. Now it's working fine again??

So has anyone else had a problem with this with the new Vbox X?

No issues with mine yet loosing locations. My AZbox will automatically turn the east limit on when I blindscan but from what I have heard its an AZbox problem and not the Vbox. It has worked great with my Viewsat 9000 HD also.

I can't get my VBox to move the dish (5ft Echostar C-Band) at all, unless I manually use the left or right buttons on the box or the remote. I'm testing it with an Openbox S9 with DisEcq 1.2 Since the C-Band system is new to me, I could be doing something else wrong and not knowing it. I know the instructions say to set the East West limits or the box will ignore movement coomands, and yet the instructions also say you don't have to set those limits?

nicknjen - Just got my AZbox and this is what I noticed when trying to move the C Dish thru the Vbox. Moves two clicks when changing channels. Haven't really try to set the unit up properly I'm been just trying to learn it. Switched from a Pansat 9200HD

Well, mine lost everything again yesterday evening? Only changes made recently was that I uploaded new channel list data from my Ultra into this Elite so I went back to the original channel data yesterday evening and today it came up fine. Must have been something in that Ultra channel stuff that this Elite and the Vbox X didn't like although I've updated that channel list MANY times and never seen this before? Things that make you go.......hummm.

My Vbox does that when I try to store all of the sats. if i just store 4 or 5 satellites it does ok. i think old analog boxes are the best dish mover.

I didn't have all the sats programmed in. Only about 75% of them is all. I did put less back in yesterday though and will add a few each day until I get back where I was. I remember reading somewhere where you should start at P50 and go up from there but can't remember where I saw it.

I have 20 sats from 55.5°~177° . Actually 177 is circular and I didn't see the need. So I'm actually going as far as 139° right now. I number mine from 0= due south. all sats east are even numbered with intervals for additions up to position 52 and sats west odd numbered up to 21 right now. I have changed a few positions 1 click and resaved but no weird wonkiness so far.

im probly the person who suggested to start at p30 and go up for cband positions. it only becomes important when using a vbox and an hh ku motor that contains a built in sat table. if you follow my advice then only the proper dish will move as desired instead of both dishes moving.

crackt out,.

I did mine a little different. I ran the dish to the east limit switch and did a reset to zero then started with P01 there and worked back toward the west. I have 37.4w as P02 and so forth coming back westward with 137w the last but not all sat locations are programmed. I have a list of all the sats from 37 back and each is numbered so what that means is there there are a bunch of numbers that are not programmed, ie, like P44 which is 119 etc.

Dunno, it went a long time working fine then like I said, I uploaded fresh channel data to the Elite and that seems to be when it went bonkers. Reverted back to the last known good channel list data and the past two days it's been working fine again so I don't think there is anything wrong with the Vbox X.

I guess next time I upload new channel list data I'll find out if that was really the cause of the hiccup.

Sounds like you might want to check the firmware rev on your AZbox. Check and see if you have the latest rev installed.

I have the same Vbox and wondering if this hiccup is due to it being used with a sat receiver?I use my vbox just to move the dish and store the sat locations by the vbox remote.

I'm still on firmware 5020 because up to this point it seems to be "working". I don't do the Youtube stuff so that and other bugs are the reasons I haven't jumped on that new firmware release. And it was working OK before this incident so I'll just stay with 5020 for a while and do more testing when I update the channel list data this weekend. I use an Ultra to blind scan then transfer that channel data over to the Elite because is can't blind scan. Both Vbox Xs have the same channel numbers for the same satellites and have worked in the past.

Your problem got me to thinking that the problems I was having with my VBox may be receiver related (OpenBoxS9), so I grabbed one of the many lying around here (GeoSatPro200c) and plugged it in. Works fine movng my small 5ft C Band dish. It can't pick up any of the S2channels, but it certainly moves the dish from the receiver.

So, my problem appears to be voltage related from the OPENBOX...

Just FYI for any reading this thread.

I've been doing some blind scans on my Ultra this week and I transferred that channel list data to the Elite this afternoon so tomorrow I'll see if that glitch shows up again.
