NBA Lockout Thread

Well, just in under the lockout...

Looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers have traded JJ Hickson to the Sacto Kings for Omri Casspi and a FIRST ROUND draft pick! The pick is lottery protected next year, top 10 protected the following year, and the protection declines after that.

I thought Casspi was pretty good the few times I saw him, but the first round pick could be key here.

By drafting Tristan Thompson, we now have multiple people at the same position Hickson was playing. He was expendable, especially since we are rebuilding.

Also, it should be noted that Casspi is dating dating former SI cover girl and all around babe Bar Refaeli.........:eek::eek:

I was not talking about other sports OTHER than the NFL.

NUFF SAID....

The other sports illustrate the point that the NBA is not very popular overseas...forget soccer where the NBA is not even on the same planet, it ranks behind a whole bunch of other sports as well.

It does...and I do not disagree...but at no point did I bring OTHER sports into the conversation so there is no reason TO bring other sports into the fray.

Compared to Cricket, the NBA has less appeal than tiddlywinks on a worldwide level.

Formula 1 racing is SERIOUSLY popular in Europe...but no so much in Fiji lol. At least not on the Fiji beach anyway...

hot damn. You're killing me here with the wife right next to me lmao!

I hope the Owners absolutely hammer the NBAPA in this lockout. There better be a hard cap and no exemptions. A Franchise tag would also be wise. So would limited guaranteed contracts. Sick of stiffs making 5 mil/yr because of the "system" and a-hole owners like the Dolans and Paul Allen along with scumbags agents.

I personally don't care if they lose a season, that happened to the NHL and it is a better league because of the new agreement.

The hard cap is wanted because the owners THEMSELVES cannot control the way they spend. They say one thing, sticking their chest out to show a hard stance, then go and give Joe Johnson Hall of Fame player like money.

The union will always have my backing... I just refuse to believe an owner who says they are losing money and show no proof of that....then hold a city hostage to build them a stadium.

Wow, I come back a married woman, and now I'm agreeing with a lot of what this guy says...WEIRD!!!

I don't think the NBA is in the dire situation the NHL was in six years ago, but there is no doubt the NHL is MUCH better, in so many ways, since they sacrificed a year to the strike.

Shows you what can happen when the owners AND the players do what's best for the sport.
