I am rehabbing/updating a corotor. The c band LNB is somewhere around 1983 vintage and someone has marked "bad" on the Ku LNB. I don't have either of them with me so I can't tell you what they are.
I would like your recommendations for suitable replacement LNBs.

Also, the blue box control, is there it a way to bench test it and where would one get a new one?

Thanks

Well if its an LNB I dont think its 1983 vintage..LOL...they may have had them by then but i don't remember LNB's until the late 80's...I could be wrong though.

Anyway....Norsats are the best bet for C- band, and for Ku, if you have the dough. I have some cheapie 13k Generics I got from Hypermegasat on one of my Orthos, and they work just fine.

Ku LNB's are a little harder to find, because most of them are round flange, and we need square flange.

Here ya go, Eagle Aspen Ku:

Eagle Aspen Ku Band LNB ::...

He's a good guy to deal with, BTW, I bought quite a bit from him and he's an ok guy.

I think he has servos too. As far as testing it, I haven't any experience, I think they use 5 volts to change the polarity. You could always bring the servo in to the receiver, hook it up and test it that way.

The vintage guesstimate was another member's due to the noise temp number which I do not remember.

Good news on the Norsats. I have a couple of 8515's around here somewhere.

Thanks for the link, although the last time I contacted them, albeit a year or two ago, they were not selling retail. I guess they have reconsidered or is there a special code ya gotta use?

The square flange, is it a special size?

You could save yourself some grief and possibly money by just getting a DMX 741S and using that instead of the Corotor. I pulled both mine off and replaced them with the DMX 741s LNBFs and love'em!

If you don't have a receiver that will run the servo to test it, why would you want to refurb and install a corotor?

Some do rehab 'em and use 'em, and more power to them.
I'm of the school that you use a Ck-1 or 741 if you have a big dish,
...else use a C2 on smaller dish,
...or just chuck the whole thing and go ortho! :)

I have three receivers that will run it. Problem is, they are not where I am presently.

I am a glutton for punishment?

Do you have a C/Ku ortho feed you wish to donate? I would be a very happy camper if I could find one.
For this dish, C band ortho was planned. I have the original C band only ortho feed and that's how/why I have the Norsat 8515's. However, LOS issues severely limit my options regarding Ku and a second dish is out of the question for now. Thus, one BUD will be pulling double duty.

Dunno I just make my order and he sends me the stuff, I do it online, I don't call. Bought a Eagle Aspen dual Ku LNB for my 1m primestar a year or so ago. Works great.

I don't know the size, I just know square and round...LOL
