Not only that, what if some or all of the top hockey markets that are currently at or above capacity could magically increase the number of seats in their arenas?? I'm sure that would increase the number of tickets sold, and at least would put them closer to capacity with the MLS teams that play at larger stadiums. Then you would be talking about an apples-to-apples comparison...

I can agree with that. Can you agree then that one of reasons baseball has lost some luster is for the same reasons?

High ticket prices and lots of games? Yes.
Reduce the number of games during the season and lower the ticket prices and attendance will increase. Although I do believe average MLB attendance has gone up each generation
Maybe in TV rating, but not so much in attendance. Now, it seems that they are getting their act together on the TV side.

That was the way I read it as well. After you pointed it out, what the 66% really means is that 66% of the teams have decreased in their average attendance. The key thing, what she failed to mention, is how much of a decrease did these 20 teams experience? Is this decrease more significant than the increase in attendance of some of the remaining 10 teams? The NHL can still have a decrease in attendance of 66% of their teams and still have an increase in overall attendance league wide
The NHL is not down 2/3 in attendance from last year. That's just a stupid statement.

Maybe she mistated and ment to say, as I read, the attendance was down in 66% of the league. WHY do you assume there is an "agenda"?
I'm going by what she actually SAID, not what you can claim she meant to say.
