One of the reasons Miami has been upfront has been coach Golden. Rumor has it, Alderius Johnson was not supposedly in the report and warned all players that were in the investigation to tell the truth...if you were caught in a lie, you would be suspended for "violating team rules".... which he did get suspended. But that is only the rumor.

Think about it, if you just saw what OSU went thru, would you think twice about continuing to cover something up once it was out in the open ?

no one is arguing that jim. what is being said is that when the first allegations came out , tressell continued to lie. allegations come out for miami and they don't even try to lie about it. see the difference? no matter what the reasons might be for miami not trying to cover this up after the first allegations were thrown out there, tressell did the opposite. first allegation comes out on osu,tressell lies about it. and you know the rest. am i wrong here?

People were speculating on the shear amount of allegations....simple as that. If they would have alleged 2 or 3 players were guilty of taking money, gifts, prostitutes...there would have been no mention of the death penalty. Now, you start talking about 20s(as the number of players mentioned in tattoo-gate), 30s, 40s and into the 70s(as mentioned in the Miami case)... Now you are alleging major lack of instutional control.

Jim, Tressell was asked before in private by way of a letter from the university before it was public, if I am not mistaken, if new of any selling of Buckeye garb and he denied it....THAT is why the school got major sanctions, not so much for what the players did. He kept it hush, hush.

Another moron that does not know Miami fans. There isn't a SINGLE MIAMI FAN than states EVERYTHING that Shapiro stated is made up. In fact, every single Miami fan does not deny some of it happened because of the days of Luke Campbell and the 'Canes of the 80s. What Miami fans are stating and screaming is.... just because a convicted liar said it...does not make EVERYTHING he said to be true.

The simple pact that 4 of the 12 players were exonerated and 5 out of the 8 were given only 1 game suspensions....goes to show you that the yahoo story has more bark than bite. I am sure that IF they would have came to anyone and stated this is all the current players(oh and by the way, Marve, Bryce and Arthur Brown have been exonerated to play as well as...showing again that some of those stories might have been a bit...ah, exaggerated) were not going to get suspended for the season, you, me and everyone would have said that they were crazy.

In the end, there is no doubt to Miami fans that there will be sanctions, we know better than everyone else....we are just saying, not all of it is true.

Yep. I liked the article.it was entertaining but like you mentioned we know down here that most of this did happen. Let me add that I don't think this is over. Some are assuming this is it and miami won't face further punishment. Not so fast. Investigation still isn't over. Allegations reach to players that have been gone for awhile. Having said that I am sure Miami will not face the death penalty no matter how many folks would love to see that go down.
