I'm a bit confused on the current Dish America package offering (34.99 reg./24.99 intro for 12mths).

The HD for life at Dish site says "Excludes Dish America and Dish Family packages" with a small print, yet the channel listed, they are in HD for Dish America subscribers.

At the checked out, I didn't see if they're charging extra for the HD add-on.

But, at the package selection, Dish America package says

"Back to basics and value with over 60 favorites, including HD, for one low price."

Anyone knows if they are going to charge extra for HD portion for Dish America package (hidden in future bill?)
or is this something one has to sign up for 24mths autobilling manually later to avoid the extra $10 HD add-on fee?

HD should already be included in Dish America for no extra charges. You shouldn't have to worry about doing autopay and paperless to get free HD unless you decide to upgrade to an "America's Top" package.

It's excluded because it is an all HD package, so there would be no need to include as available for the free HD.

This is Dish's best package in my opinion, cheap & has the basics.

Would be a really great package if it had BBC America in it. That's why I had to go to a different package when E* killed absolute.

I didn't know anyone actually watched that channel.

Something else also, I just realized you're not a pub member, you've been around for a while. What's up with that?

I also watch bbca. Their "top gear" is far better than the US one and Law and Order UK is very good. (Among others) The all HD package is a pretty good package....

I like BBCA too..
The odd thing is, they don't even provide BBCA for Dish Silver or Dish Gold. That's odd.

They want us to get Top200 or higher for BBCA.

Same goes for DIY. I like that channel. I don't mind getting in SD too. Dish Family has DIY
Yet, Dish America doesn't include DIY eventho it has higher price than Dish Family.

Very odd!

BBC America and DIY are in Dish Latino Max. FMI: DISH Network

BBC America was not in Absolute so I let them move me to AT200 with HD for life.

When I discovered Top Gear I had to watch every episode that aired - those guys are hilarious, ingenious and electric, best show on TV IMHO.

I knew of Top Gear for a while, but finally started watching a few months ago and now I too am hooked and have been watching every episode I can find. If I can't find something to watch I go and see if there is a Top Gear marathon on BBCA.

Dish America comes with local channels, doesn't it?

I'm with America Top 120, and I get a Encore channel free because I'm paperless.

If I switch to Dish America, how do I keep under Paperless and get that Encore channel free?

Also, it it comes with local channels, are the local channels in HD as well?

1 last thing, I am w/ America top 120 without any contract, if I switch to Dish America, can I get that 12 month special package?

no. Since you're a current sub you cannot get that pricing.
