I purchased a VOD event from D* for 19.99.

In the info section, it said "Available until 2/1".

I went ahead and downloaded it, and viewed it.

When I got done, it says "Expires 1:55 am 10/23"

Well, I did some researching, and it appears this summer they put a 24 hour limit on VOD's.

1. I was never informed of this. None of my bills ever mentioned it, there was no mention on the D* Website.
2. There was no mention in the show case listings, in the listings itself. It did not say "expires..." Until I purchased it.
3. I would HAVE NEVER paid $19.99 to rent something 24 hours.

I really think it's stupid to charge people $19.99 to rent something for 24 hours, when you can purchase it on DVD for $21.99!!!

If you call Directv they MAY credit you back the money if you haven't watched it, but don't expect any favors from them in the future.

The title is available to rent until 2/1. Once you download it, you have 24 hours to watch it.

I don't know if it's always been like this or not, but 4 years ago (or so) I got screwed on VOD rental for a djfferentand reason and have never gotten another one.

OP,

1. Do you do any reading or research before you leap?

2. You have done nothing but bitch & complain since getting service. You have like 7 - 10 different subjects you are worrying over. Next it will be you don't like the color of your remote because it doesn't match your carpet.

3. Most of what you are complaining about is; nitpicking and not even not DirecTV's fault; or its very well known for those that read, be it online or the DirecTV FAQ or fine print, etc. (heck, call them 1st if you don't know)

You really need to pick and choose what are "real issues" and drop all the petty stuff like edited porn and the stuff that is spelled out BEFORE you actually act or order, etc.

I am NOT trying to be mean, but just pointing out the perception.

I never order PPV VOD unless I have a free coupon. Even then I usually forget I have the coupons and they expire. You live and you learn. All you can do is not purchase PPV VOD ever again.

I still remember when you use to pay $4 or $5 for a movie and you had to watch it the moment you ordered it. So VOD has come along way. Still not worth the price when there's Redbox, Netflix, Blockbuster Express, and Blockbuster. The only advantage they may have is getting the rights to it before the others get it.

I never, never order anything from ppv or vod especially with what the internet has to offer..........

Also, you don't have to go OUT to get it and you have NO RETURN by date to deal with.

Ferris Bueller you're my hero :)

Well said!

Well I called them last night. They said the charge for it never showed up on my account, so I deleted it. So luckily I'm not out the money.

gotta be porn...he's got 2 other threads on it

Why in the world would someone pay $19 for a few hours at best of porn, when you could spend that for a months worth on the net, or better yet, get the vast majority of it for free?

Really, you can get free porn on the internet? I had no idea! ;)
