I didn't FAIL to read anything. While you have stated you didn't condone Suh's actions, you also stated that we don't know what the Packers player said or did. Call me stupid, but to me that's just trying to rationalize Suh's actions (and there isn't ANY).

As far as the Red Wings go, every Playoffs thread you complain about the officiating (if you don't believe me look it up).

Again, you are an outstanding fan, but bad calls go against BOTH teams all the time.
And that was what 7 months ago ?

Suh has done himself a huge disservice. He goes to NYC to talk to the commissioner, then after the supposed goodwill and basically having Fidel Goodell fawn all over him, he pulls this. This to me is not a reflection of the team and more of the man. His actions were not only stupid, but selfish ...knowing how important he is to his teams success. It is one thing to be called on a personal foul...its another to be thrown out of the game.

He is no close to being a true leader of a team than he was when he was 10 years old playing Pee Wee football.

We will see what kind of true influence he had on Goodell with the type of fine/suspension he gets next week.

I agree with your post.
I'll also point out that you generally don't have your youngest player be the TEAM LEADER, don't think I've ever seen where anyone mentioned him being the team leader.

Interesting you mentioned Rodgers and Brady getting the calls. One of them has had a pretty good success rate against the Lions, and the other one has had a pretty good success rate against the Steelers.

Hmmmmm.........

Rodgers success has come in the last year, Bradys for a long time now.
Fwiw, I'll take Big Ben ..... tell me who gets the call between Brady and Ben ....

Go ahead .... tell me Ben gets the calls ...

That's my point, EVERY team has benefitted from bad calls- yes Jimbo, even yours.

Well until suh gets his punishment I'm done on this subject. At the end it's just a game and I refuse to get my emotions involved in any of this.I don't want to anger or offend anyone so I will continue the discussion another time :)
Looks like Tuesday, at the earliest. They usually wait until all of that week's games are complete....

Lions RB Jahvid Best out for the season with concussion problems. With Kevin Smith dealing with an ankle injury and Jerome Harrison out with a brain tumor, the Lions practically have no running back right now.

Hears hoping Kevin Smith is a fast healer, he looked really good till he got hurt in the first half.

Might have been a better game had Detroit not lost 4 players to injury (or ejection) during the game.

The Suh play was huge, they trailed only 7-0 and had held the Pack to a FG try before the ejection.
When Suh went out, the team deflated, played a VERY good first half defensively.

Yeah, but the Lions are a young team. Do they have any starters who have been in the league longer than 3-4 years?

Either way the NFL needs to make an example of this guy. Kicking a player like that is uncalled for. Its a thug move, something you'd expect to see in street ball not the NFL.

Theres plenty of others that have done worse, not that I'm saying what he did was ok ....

HAYNESWORTH, has does this type of thing, got suspended for 5 games I think it was, but he had a long history of such antics.

Someone else kicked a guy in the groin this year or last and got NOTHING, so where do you put Suh as far as suspension goes.

As I mentioned before, if the commish doesn't like you you'll get a huge suspension while if he likes you you'll get nothing, the consistancy of the officials and Commish is terrible

You're wrong, the commish & officials are very consistant in screwing over who they don't like. Anyway,Suh is a major marketable star in the NFL,even if he's only been in it for 2 years. The message needs to get to him that he is a role model AND A STAR & such behavior needs to stop immediately. He needs a "time out."

Haynesworth is the only player that has been suspended for anything done ON THE FIELD during Goodell's tenure... Suh will more than likely be #2.

What Suh did was stupid, idiotic and immature. Does this guy think he is Mean Joe Green? That is something that was accepted back then, and yes I liked it, but this is a new NFL and is unheard of.

And way too much $$$$ invested in players...the football of even the 90's will not be accepted anymore.

Probably like a lot of people I have been rooting for the Lions considering what a terrible time the fans and team have had for the last decade plus. I like young teams who are aggressive and play the game hard. But, as a fan when I see the things this team has done over the last several weeks, it totally turns me off. The reaction after Ryan was hurt, the mocking of Tebow, and now the thug behavior with the, Packers is a huge turn off. I think it is just a matter of maturity but I would hate it if this team gets the label dirty team But they are heading that way. I just think a strong stance, with Suh might be the wakeup call he and his team need. Not only that but as they say in baseball what Suh did is "bush league" and needs to be dealt with sternly.
