DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Directv handles their dispute with Viacom in a week. Dish and AMC, not so much. Sigh!

I don't think there is a dispute between Dish and AMC. Dish is not going to carry AMC, Roku's and discounts have taken the place of the AMC channels, and shuffling in some cases channels to replace them in some packages. There is no dispute between SNY, MSG, or YES and Dish. Dish is not going to carry them either. Not even taking sides in this post, just I think those are the facts.

I agree. Since they aren't talking at all now, I wouldn't expect AMC to show up in any close in timeframe. I suspect it will come back at some point though.

And this affects the plans I had been considering. I had planned on cancelling D* and eating the ETF, which would have saved me money overall, but while I wouldn't cancel Dish over AMC, I don't think I want to switch to them because of it. At the moment Direct has almost all I would want in HD, notable exceptions being BBCA-HD and possibly Epix. But for all that want, with BBCA there is only one show of enough interest to make me get it and pay for it. While with AMC, there are at least 3 shows that I would want.
