2013 NFL Playoffs/Super Bowl

Hart -

Since you're having fun making stuff up and living in fantasy land, how about this scenario-

This offseason, Bil Bellicheck comes out and states they have traded Tom Brady straight across for Peyton Manning.

DO you -

a) Root for Tom Brady and the Broncos because he's the better QB

b) Root for Peyton Manning because he is now the Patriots QB, and no matter what his playoff record, he'll do better because he is now on a better TEAM?

c) shoot yourself in the head.

I can hear that gator brain sizzling from here...........................

What did I make up?

The 9-11 record?

C.

But Belichick would never get fooled that bad on a trade, so it would never happen.

"I see what you did there"

SO, using your logical reasoning, the Ravens will be handing the Patriots their shriveled head on a platter next Sunday.

And just to extend your logic - (this was first brought up in the NCAAF thread)

Louisville whipped Florida's ass, so using your reasoning, that means that Syracuse and UConn would easily whip Florida's ass as well, because they beat Louisville and are better teams than Florida.

That's not what I said.

Let me give you the cliff notes so your buckeye brain can process it.

PEYTON MANNING SUCKS IN THE POSTSEASON.

you guys having fun yet or you're almost done???

by the way hart, 9-11 postseason record with 2 superbowl appearances and one ring is nothing to laugh at. he still has 9 wins in the postseason. tell that to matt ryan or even tony gonzalez who after 16 years got his first postseason win.i can list you many other great HOF players who didn't have that many post season wins much less a ring. peyton is one hell of a QB and i wish he would've spent his career here in miami.

his legacy is already set and its a damn good one too, but i do understand he's not as clutch as Brady or maybe even his brother. Tom Brady is as close to perfection as one can be. he just doesn't make the mistakes, so lucky you that the pats were so privileged to get Brady who imo is better than montana. why do i say that? that's a discussion for some other time. Just because one QB is better than another doesn't mean we should take a dump on the man's career.

god i can't believe i commented on this topic again. last thing i'll say about it.

Tom Brady is very, very good. However,if he was the qb on any other team in the NFL,his playoff record wouldn't be so stellar.Bill Belichick, like him,or hate him,is one of the greatest coaches of all time.I loathe him personally but,I can't deny the fact he is a great HOF coach. While this is simply a what if scenario...If Peyton had been Belichick's QB over the same span as Brady,he would have just as many, possibly more rings than Brady. It would be great to see Brady on another team in the future, just to see how good/bad he really is,without Belichick.

Good luck to your Patriots Hart.I can't stand them, course I don't like the Ravens either.Maybe one of these days I'll get to see the Eagles back in contention.

WOW!!!!

You are joking, right? RIGHT???!!

You do realize that Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and then got fired, don't you? And before Tom Brady took over from Drew Bledsoe, that Belichick's record with the Patriots was 5-13?

Nothing against BB who is a HOF head coach, but you got it backwards.

Perhaps,I'm still not convinced though.Like a fine wine Belichick aged well.He was very young while in Cleveland and he had a winning record 36-44 with one playoff appearance. How many other Cleveland coaches have been able to accomplish that? He also had to rely on Bledsoe to finish the AFC championship game in 2001.2000 was Belichick's only losing year with NE,which happened to be his first year as HC there.Unless, and until Brady and Belichick get a divorce the world will never truly know. For now I'm sticking to my statement.Belichick made Brady.

I disagree with you, but I think that we will get to see it in a few years. I don't think Brady plays for another team, but I think he plays 3 maybe 4 more years. I think Belichick coaches the Pats past that time.

You're right about one thing, we'll never know for sure if and until they are separated. However, the "evidence" (Belichick's record pre-Brady) does support my theory more, and there's no disputing that. ;)

BTW, when did Belichick all of a sudden become an offensive guru? He's always been known as a defensive coach.

And if anything, Belichick made Parcells (who won zero Super Bowls without Belichick).

I dont want to start any argument on here but I do have a question/comment about Belichick and the Cleveland Browns. Didnt the Browns have a good year under Belichick when the team was announced that they were moving? It seems like as soon as that happened the wheels came off there season because they were having a good year up until that point. And who knows, if that didnt happen, if the Browns would have made the Super Bowl. I think it might have changed people's perception of Belichick if he has a Super Bowl under his belt before he came to New England. Just my opinion.

So if Hart5150 thinks Peyton's a playoff choke artist, what does that make Brett Favre?

Both have a SB ring, but blew another SB and squandered many a chance to make a run at a 3rd SB appearance.

Belichick did alright in Cleveland. He actually led them to the playoffs and they beat the Parcells coached Patriots in a Wildcard game. It did fall apart for him in Cleveland when he decided to go with Vinny Testaverde over the much loved Bernie Kosar.

Listen, I have no beef with BB, but to say Brady is nothing without him is beyond foolish.

I don't buy that 'Brady would be nothing without Belichick' crap.

If anything, if you gave him the offensive weapons of, say, Atlanta or New Orleans., he'd still be damn good.

the king of interceptions..... and the queen of dramatic exits ;)

Today was honestly the first time I've ever seen that statement (hence my over the top reaction :D). However, I have seen the reverse argument MANY times. I don't agree with that either, but that argument is much more valid, IMO.
