GEOSATpro Advice for new MICRO HD

Connect cable, install driver, transfer new .udf, factory reset, remove power for a few seconds and back in operation. Maybe 5 minutes???

Now I need to find a windows OS :facepalm

What are you running now? If you have some sort of virtual machine (VMware, Parallels, Bootcamp) I have a few spare legal copies of Windows XP collecting dust. I might have to do some digging to find them, but I could send one up your way. I think one is for anyone to use, the other copies are for student/professor use only. I DO know that one copy is so old, last time I used it (before upgrading to win7) I had to phone India to get it activated.

Using Kubuntu. Getting a copy of whatever its the issue, its just a pain and a snooze to install. I also have a working Windows 3.1 laptop somewhere.

Woke up this morning, sipping coffee, wifey's away so the cat can play. I got the sudden urge to phone Jeremy at my local satellite store to bug him on a Sunday to ask if I can get a microHD. Yes, I still don't have one.
Kraven: this thread pushed me over the edge. You just cost me! The S9 is almost assigned to basement storage already with the old Coolsat and Viewsats.

Having followed Kraven's bizzare journey with the MicroHD, I wonder if the vendor tested the unit prior to shipping it. And I don't mean plugging it in to see if some LED lights up on the front panel.

I still rather look out the window and watch the snow melt than use the S9. S*** happens but I'll get her fixed soon.
I will say this, the little I played w/ the microHD.. it is a sweet machine. Plus its literally half the size of the S9.

No..he was out but had one shipped pronto from his depot/warehouse something. Nothing negative ever crossed my mind over my dealer as all my dealings w/ him have been first class.

My local shop was closed Sunday. So an appointment has been made with him to pick up a microHD tomorrow. Tomorrow because he has to check out the unit and make sure it has latest firmware. He's having my fun! Too bad about your S9. Mine has worked well always and earned its place of honour sitting under the new microHD and on top of the Coolsat 7000. I actually prefer bigger. I assume bigger allows for better cooling air circulation. Christmas is 9 months early.

I purchased an S9 about 3 weeks ago. It worked right out of the box, as well my local dealer hooked it up in his show room and scanned in 97W since I opted not to purchase the optional waranty. Except for a couple of minor glitches it is out performing my Viewsat Ultra and Viewsat extreme in terms of picture quality and receiver sensitivity.
It seems that S9 owners are either happy or un happy with this unit, its a mixed bag.
I'm looking forward to your Micro up and running and see how it compares.
