Antenna Recommendation for my area?

I appreciate your help in advance

I currently receive 18 channels and would like to clear a few up or perhaps reach out further. My current mount is 20ft up and this one will be the same or similar height.

So what type of antenna should I purchase, with what accessories. tvfool attached, thank you!

What are you currently using for an antenna? What channels are you receiving(18) is it actual broadcast channels or is that counting subchannels?

and honestly, my setup is silly. I have pvc as my antenna which is ridiculously ugly....and my antenna had stopped working due to water so I broke it open and cleaned it up (its like 3-4 years old). I then had to find something to put it in....andddd I kind of put it in an ice tea half gallon jug from kfc. If anyone wants pictures I will gladly take them lol. But then I sealed it kind of with some kitchen and bath caulk and pvc glue....it looks pretty redneck lol. Had to do what I had to do...couldnt live without some channels and really wanted to see if the antenna would help. It boosted our channels by 6 or 7. Pretty good for lifting the antenna only 20 feet.

Am not factoring in your analog stations. For digitals, assuming your LOS is clear of trees and hills, I'd put the antenna as high as possible. Use a deep fringe antenna (91XG) and a pre-amp (CM-7777) then adjust and hit the "sweet spot".

Am surprised by the amount of LP stations in your area.

Well I am actually surrounded by trees and bushes, trees as high as 40-50 ft. I am quite shocked based on my area how many channels I am getting as well, but I assume that even though I have trees and such I should probably still look into your advice.

You have 3 VHF channels 7(7.1 & 7.2) 9 (29.1,2,3) and 13(13.1,2,3) the rest are UHF. Your MANT940 is for UHF so that is why you describe 7 & 29 as bad. I would recommend an Antenna Craft HBU33 or larger at 20ft above ground level, with the antenna aimed 41-49 degrees. I don't think you will get many more stations than you are getting now unless you want to add a rotor to get channels from different directions.

You may just have to go with Dish or DirectTV for your OTA channels unless your willing to spend a lot more money on a tower, rotator and new antennas. If money not an issue then I could see you getting additional stations, but the MANT940 isn't going to do much for you as it's range is around 20 miles.

the antenna recommendation you provided states that it picks up channels 7-69, is that a no bs pick up range...because I would hate to lose 4.1 and 4.2, or am i just clueless

most stations do not broadcast on their old analog spot. You need to look at your tvfool report and look under the "REAL" column

As example 4 (WYFF) actually broadcasts on 36 (it maps to 4 like your use to seeing)
You have 3 VHF stations (4 if you consider a low powered station)
PBS 29 broadcasts on RF9
CBS 7 broadcasts on 7
ABC 13 broadcasts on 13

That's the one thing I never liked about the digital transition: the virtual channel numbers. I understand the reason for having them but it can also be misleading to some people unless they actually do their homework.
