Hopper S246 Joey S294 Is Out

Found a bug with the new software on the Hopper. When you are in the guide and change the channel view (ie; HD Only, My Channels, etc) it displays the spam banner at the bottom until you exit the guide and go back. And yes the spam banner is not enabled in settings. I tried it in my Joey and it does not do it on that, just the Hopper itself.

Not seeing that on mine.

Not getting that on my Hoppers.

You can enable bridging when you select broadband you have to go into network details and bridging is down at the bottom, you no longer have to press the blue button twice for it to pop up. Also while in the DVR if you select the edit action, then select edit action (green shortcut button) you can now select multiple DVR events and automatically play them back-to-back! PTAT events must be moved to the my Recordings folder to be added to an autoplay list but autohop will not be an available feature for events in an autoplay list. Another thing added is a MoCa indicator when you go into the hole-home screen.

I can still enable bridging on my bedroom Hopper which has not been updated yet, the old way using blue button. My Living Room Hopper has new software which does not need blue button but every time I try to enable it, it defaults back to disable. Tried to enable it numerous times.

I suspect that if ethernet is already on the coax because of bridging on another Hopper, Joey or HIC, then it will not enable. Only one device should bridge. Bridging is now enabled by default so the first device to power up with a network connection does the bridging and the others disable their bridging.

Just tried to enable bridging in Family Room, defaults to disable. I was sure I could enable it on both Hoppers before the update. Maybe Hopper in bedroom which still has old software is creating this problem.

Disabled Bridging on Bedroom Hopper which still has old software. Still cannot enable Bridging on Family Room Hopper which has new software. My main reason for enabling bridging was to try to get the Home Media function to work. I thought it would really be nice to stream from my PC to my Hopper. I was hoping this upgrade would fix things up. I have given up.

Thanks to all who responded to me.

Black screen of death is not fixed with new update

Occasionally, I get the black screen of death when accessing recordings on my other Hopper. This started with the previous release and requires me to power off the Bedroom Joey in order to reestablish control. After powering off the Joey, I just go through the same steps again, and then it works. I was hoping that the new release would fix this however, last night it happened again. Is anyone else seeing this same problem?

I get it with only two Hoppers running, when playing off one Hopper from the other. Usually requires me stopping the recording and starting it back again, sometimes twice.
