Just for the record, HSN (C4-10) has left analog. For those that still use the analog signals to point and identify certain satellites, there are still four 24/7 channels.

C4-09 QVC
C3-07 C-SPAN
C3-13 The Weather Channel (VC2)
G4-16 The Shepherd’s Chapel

Thanks for the info. Yep that leaves us with only 4 now.

C-Span is the only channel I watch on analog. I really wish cspan would go FTA for the HD :)

Won't be long now, and NTSC will be a memory, and the 34 inch 'big screen' will become history.
I'm actually surprised C-Span is ITC. Being owned by the major cable companies.
Think it's ITC for the small cable co's that are 'member' affiliates of the consortium.
When it goes to DVB-S or S2, and it will eventually, i highly doubt that it will remain ITC. IMHO

CSpan currently uses a Digicipher II combo mode mux on AMC 10.
The mux includes CSpan HD and SD, CSpan2 HD and SD, and CSpan 3 HD and SD.
SD is mpeg 2 video and HD is H.264 video.
All channels are encrypted.

Shepherds channel goes digital part time on Saturdays for some reason

lol, I don't even know how to tune in to an analog signal.

C-SPAN's encryption is rather silly though as all their programs are available for free in HD on their website.

looking at Shepherd's chapel website, the best I can figure is that their "live" bible study airs just M-F, so saturday is the best day for analog feed interruption to run test windows for their digital signal until they feel they are ready to finish the transition to digital.

Agree, it's stupid but since the cable industry is subsidizing it who knows. I do wonder if the sat companies contribute funds or they pay per sub like ESPN, Weather Ch, etc...
