Who's team needs help? That would be the Reds. They need an offensive power.

Tigers need a BULLPEN, a catcher a RF'er and a healthy SS ( hopefully the SS is in good shape)
A couple of reliable Starters would be good to fill out the rotation, Scherzer more than likely will go to whoever pays the most ... that Won't be the Tigers.

i think your future RF in Steven Moya is playing Arizona Fall League right now if you what to spent your money on the bullpen

I agree about Moya, we just haven't seen him enough to just give the position to him as far as I'm concerned.

BULLPEN is a must, they resigned Soria today, a good move overall I think Soria will be very good for them.
Coke and Chamberlin are more than likely gone.
Theres talk about getting Andrew Miller (same one we had originally) but the price may be too high.
I also think (hope) that Joe Nathan will bounce back next year.

There has been talk of possibly getting Cory Rasmus for CF.

What the Braves need, desperately, is offense. Consistent, get on the base, not strike out offense. You can't win in the bigs with a 1/3 of your team hitting .250 or below. I am sure they want to unload BJ Upton but like Dan Uggla, not sure if that is possible at this stage without just dumping him and eating the contract. He is to young for them to do that. Probably have to trade for another bad contract and use the "old change of scenery" thought to unload him. I don't think that helps. They probably won't keep and sign both Heyward and/or Justin Upton. I would prefer for them to sign them both and let Ervin Santana walk away and then they go with there young pitchers. I KNOW they need to get a second baseman but those are far and few between. I think they could move Gattis to LF, let Bethancourt catch, let BJ come off the bench or rotate in the OF because they have Hayward and Justin for another year. They tied up a lot of money last year for their young players and I would wager they will not spend to much this off-season. They need health for some of their good young pitchers but I am not aware of any pitcher coming back with good work after two Tommy John surgeries. That pretty much leaves Medlin, Venters, and Beachey as big time unknowns. They could trade Gattis to an AL team or maybe a huge trade of Upton or Heyward for some quality. For me, the bottomline is get offense. i think with the young pitchers both in Atlanta and on the farm, they can make that work.

Looks like the Marlins SUPPOSEDLY are looking into a contract similar to Freddie Freeman's from the Braves to entice Stanton to sign long term. The team owns his rights for the next 2 years still. Rumor is something like $190 for the next 7 years.

Micheal Cuddyer signed with the Mets. Everybody says its a good move but how can you trust a guy that only played in 49 games this season. Now, the Mets need to get Castro from the Cubs. Or Andrew Miller from the O's.

Miller coming to the Tigers .... I hope.
He's been here once, as a rookie I think it was.

How does 13 years, $320M sound?

Stupid ....

Have we learned ANYTHING ?

The 10 year contract was all the rage for awhile, till time showed that it turned out to be a poor choice over time, actually after year 5 at the latest.

I think all contracts should be 5 years or less.

A- Too much... if this contract goes through, its going to put MLB on the path to a salary cap.
B- We're also dealing w/ that vile snake Loria. There is no way in hell Stanton will still be in Miami at the end of this contract. Either Loria has a backside deal w/ another team for a trade 2-3 years from now (NYY??) or there's a termination/release/opt out clause in the contract.

The hoser's cheap and I doubt he'll be spending big bucks on his team. Something's up and it smells like 2004 Montreal all over again.

A... I have a strange feeling he was backed into that deal by MLB because of Loria's past AND for him, he has the Stanton commodity if he sells the team, which he can in 2 more years.
B... Loria gave Stanton the best of both worlds: a no-trade clause AND a by out in 5 years. More than likely, Stanton will opted out because he wants to go back to California and not be traded to the Yanks, Red Sox or Braves.

I CANNOT believe I am gonna do this, but I am going to stick up for the deal.:coco:eek (I think I just threw-up in my mouth and I need a shower)I think this was right deal. Do I trust Loria for as far as I can spit out gum...HELL NO! But, it was damn if you do and damn if you don't. I am glad he did.
