So I mailed a Rebate form to directv and I ask on chat what the status is? The rep says they never received any rebate form so now I have no idea what to do?

Good point because Lotta people see this rebates but directly through a third-party advertising through DirecTV

It was directv, flyer that showed the 200.00 rebate but it wasn't directly directv. Had to pay 20.00 shipping for them to send the tech the equipment. They called it a handling fee.

Check with the third party retailer.
Was it Costco?

No it was from a flyer I got in the mail. Said a $200 gift card.

Ok..Please tell me you STILL have the flyer...If so, read the tiny( not small) print.
I have my ear to the ground regarding consumer issues and consumer rights.
Many of these rebates are offered by parties other than the retailer. In some instances the wait can be 20 to 25 weeks.
In many instances, the rebate card(s) never arrive. At that point, the normal progression is the customer complains to the retailer. The retailer claims the rebate comes from a third party. The retailer then refers the customer to that party.
The idea is for the customer to simply "give up" their quest for the promised rebate. Meanwhile the customer has no recourse against the original retailer because they have a two year agreement with the company granting authorization to the third party retailer...Another issue that stymies the customer is often once they get the product, send off the forms( which they usually do not copy ), they have thrown away the ad to which they responded, etc. The only record of the purchase is the existence of the equipment in their home.
Unless you have kept good records and have everything saved from the time you got the ad in the mail, and unless you have the persistence of a Badger, I would kiss that rebate goodbye.
Sorry....It sucks. If I were you I'd be very pissed off.

Yes I still have that flyer, says card will arrive 4-6 weeks after form has been received. They are saying they never received the form. I told them if I don't get the rebate then I'll be leaving next year. Yea I'll have to pay a ETF to leave and I'm irate over this. Hoping they make good and give me the gift card .

When we came back (just left in like May and came back a month or two ago) we signed up at BJs for the $200 card. There was a special number to call for CS support so you should look through your paper work and see if you have a different number to call. At least in our case it was a third party outfit that sent the card.

We also stacked the refer a friend but I think the person that said they added it just lied because after 2 months still nothing on either of our accounts. I should of recorded the conversation and will probably start doing so for transactions like this in the event the rep decides to not do their job and just wants to get off the phone.
