If Dish holds it's ground, I wonder what will happen when Direct or any other carrier's come up for negotiation. If Turner tries the same thing, will the other carrier's take Dish's lead and so no. If so, I wonder what Turner's next move would be.

The key is that Turner will try to have the Dish negotiations behind them before the next big provider comes up. They do not want to be in a Viacom situation where the failed negotiations seem to be spreading.

What the hell, kill all the channels, shoot down all the satellites! I'm done, stick a fork in me. If I had thrown all the money I have spent on Dish programing and Dish equipment over the years in a ROTH IRA, I probably could retire by now. Instead I have to listen to Suzie Ormon tell people like me what stupid morons we are throwing our money away! So, look on the bright side, because of Dish I now know where I rank in the world of financial planning and Suzie will not be letting me sleep on her couch when I become homeless.

Why not just get rid of all TVs and just read and listen to the radio or go outside and do something. If I went even further with your thinking I could save even more money if I stopped drinking alcohol and eating fast food. I might as well buy a cabin in the woods and live off the land and take all the extra money I'm saving and put it away. Part of me wouldn't mind doing this actually. I'm just not sure how long I could do it before I'd miss being spoiled so much. :D

Get me a nice cabin by the woods that also has some prairie land with a pond and a trout stream on it and I'd be one happy man. That would be my dream retirement home, if I retired at a young age of course.

OK, I'll bite. (No pun intended.) Where would you want to retire if you are old?

That I don't know. I'd like the same place but I just figure if I'm too old I wouldn't be able to enjoy the outdoors as much are even keep up the yard and land.

fat finger something and an English professor has a field day
I have never been accused of being an English professor. You certainly would not want to take an English class from me.

Statistics, Algebra, yes. English, no.

We've been told our networks were taken down because we would not move an expiration date later in the year.

IF Dish kept them up without a contract, wouldn't they be in violation? Am I missing something here Turner? If you made them expire, I think Dish HAS to take the networks down. They didn't have a choice.
Nope. It happens quite often. I imagine that there is a provision in these contracts for that.

Scherrm, Please, stop sounding like my wife!

General Note to Dish:
CNN outage

Ok, I have been patient. I am now getting annoyed about the CNN/HLN outage. You folks need to get off the dime and get back the programming that I am paying for.
BTY, stop blaming Time-Warner. We ALL know that the problem is stubbornness and greed on BOTH ends.

If this continues and they drop TNT and my Hoops, I will be on the landline bending some hapless customer support reps ear for a restoration of services that I am paying for.

You call it stubbornness and greed, others call it business. To me this is just business as usual.
