Im guessing at the current state less than 50K customers have left. Especially when you see FNC took a 433K loss of viewership.

So you are saying Dish has 383K customers holding on, hoping this gets settled. Wonder how much patience they have.

No, it was probably just another 50K viewers watching multiple times. :)

keepfoxnews.com is reporting that the dispute is over. I don't see the channels restored yet, however.

It WAS true when I posted it. They had a screen that said an agreement has been reached. I see they have now reverted back to the anti-dish stuff on keepfoxnews.com.

Interesting that they were so ready to declare it over, based probably on the two sides coming close without having an actual deal as of yet.
It almost smacks of desperation, like they really want it to be over and FNC back up and have those 433,000 eyeballs back. (866,000 eyeballs, actually.)

Happens Chad; rumors are just that until the ink dries. Still, I think this rumor is a good sign. Probably the negotiators had a deal, but it got nixed by higher-ups. <-- my wag

It was in an employee email... Thats the confusing part. I was at the bar with them when it came across. I have nnever seen that happen.

I turned on the SiriusXM radio this morning to Fox News and the first thing I heard was an ad for Dish Network. Thought that seemed odd. My guess is that Sirius sold that ad. Well played Dish.

I saw the screen that said the channels were restored and an agreement had been reached.

They were teasing us...

So the Fox website announced it and Dish employees got an email that it was back, and then it isn't. Now this is interesting...

I've been asleep, no idea if an agreement was close or not. I logged into my company email, and nothing there. A few things...

I do know the approximate cost that Dish uses to acquire a new customer, and I'm not telling that here. Nope.

I don't know how many have left Dish over this, but I feel comfortable saying that 90,000 is a wild over-estimate. I have access to see how many accounts were tagged with the issue when they called in. That number isn't even 100% accurate, due to incompetent offshore agents who can't do simply things like tag the account. I know we've had more people call us about this, than the CNN issue (I doubt that is a shock), but it's closer than you'd probably think.

Is Dish handing out credits, and losing a few subscribers? Yes. Is Dish not having to pay for Fox News and Fox Business during the dispute? Yep...so there are costs, and there are savings. I can feel pretty certain that our corporate offices are watching the pennies carefully, and are aware of the losses, and when/if they feel they're too much, they'd cut a deal.

I was listening to a Fox syndicated talk radio show the other night (John Gibson), and they run ads (they're usually overlaid by local ads, I think), and it said that (paraphrased) "Hey, Dish customers, Dish is trying to censor Fox News. They don't want you to hear the truth". I'm not going to argue politics on this (please, folks...let's not get the thread shut down), but it does reek of desperation by Fox to take that angle...they know it's business. and not politics.
