Yes, equipment is a choice. I want to choose the least amount as possible to spend on equipment. With Dish, I can choose to spend $0 on equipment. What is the cheapest I can spend on equipment with Direct?
What is the most common thing a new customer signs up for? For Dish I'm guessing the Top 200 with three TVs, either a 722k and 211z or a Hopper with two Joeys. If everyone wants the comparison to be somewhat accurate you're going to have to use the most common setup. DVR has to be involved in at least 80% of all activations if not 90% so you have to include DVR equipment in the comparisons along with HD.
You realize Extra is comparable to Top 200, not Choice? Each with an advertised approx 200 channels, Choice with 150. Your savings would be more with the correct comparison.
I'm looking at what I'd need to get for NBCSN and TCM. Not apples to apples, but Yespage at Dish to Yespage at Directv.
But yes, the difference is a little higher than I remembered. Regardless if pom poms are involved or not. Now only if Directv would stop getting the Super Rugby rights. I miss that from the Setanta days.

Virtually every person I know has two rooms, living room and Bedroom. Some have no receiver in the kitchen it is mirrored no matter the carrier, but I trust your knowledge on this, three rooms.
If you're getting one 612 receiver or a 722k the DVR fee is still only $7. That $10 fee is only if the 612 is the secondary receiver. If you get one Hopper then the DVR fee is $12.
For my customers the most common install was a 722k and 211 or just a 722k. Side 2 of the 722k would get mirrored to any TVs beyond two or three.

It is still irrelevant to the entire point of the black-out, really. As I mentioned in a previous post. Even if Dish were the most expensive service on the planet I would support them, or any other carrier that stood up to this "negotiation" tactic.
Yes. And, I got an email announcing the $50 credit a few days later. But, I received a "customer appreciation" (or some term like that) package in the mail with the PPV certs before receiving the email acknowledgment and credit. It felt like just a general stroke job for out-of-contract subs to keep 'em happy, maybe as a preemptive massage during the FNC dispute.
