MLB 2014-15 Hot Stove season

Thats kinda what i figured .... just a warm body ...
Tigers are going the wrong way ...
Sent Porcello away and Scherzer is probably leaving ... Verlander MAY be back to old self, but no way to really know.

From the sounds of it Ces will hit HRs but also strike out alot, on a positive, I like his Defense, thats a plus.
How are things going with David Price?

Marlins sign ex-Giant Morse for 2 years to play 1b. The team is shaping up quite nicely. With just about everyone in the NL East has weakened except for the Nationals, I can see a possible Wild Card run.

This is what the starting line-up would look like if the season started today:

Gordon - 2b
Yelich - LF
Stanton - RF
McGee - 3b
Morse - 1b
Ozuna - CF
Saltalamacchia - c
Hechevarria - SS

Starting Rotation of: Alvarez, Eovaldi, Latos and Heron. Then in June, you get Fernandez back. Which would be like a trade without giving anyone up.
This looks like a good run at the wild card IF everyone can just have an average year with no major health issues.

I know. The Padres are going to be good next year. I think its a dog fight in the NL West with the Dodgers, Padres and Giants.

James Shields reportedly has a $110M offer on the table
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...year---110m-offer-on-the-table-192956318.html

It's a mystery who the team is that's offering him this much money & why they'd pay so much for a 33 year old pitcher.

Shields, one of the top free agents on the market who is not yet signed, reportedly has an offer on the table worth $110 million over five seasons, which far exceeds the $90 million estimates we were hearing just a few months ago. Who's making such an offer to a 33-year-old pitcher? Therein is the fun part. We don't know. It's the good ol' mystery team.

Though the front-runners for Shields are not known, a number of executives tell FOX Sports they expect the free-agent right-hander to land a contract of at least five years, $100 million. Two execs say it is their understanding that Shields has a five-year, $110 million offer and is looking for an even higher guarantee. But others say that if Shields actually has such an offer, he should take it.

Like one of Rosenthal sources says, we have to wonder, if Shields really does have an offer worth $110 million on the table, why doesn't he already have a pen in his hand?

The Reds finally got a left fielder, only problem is that he is 37. Marlon Byrd if he does what he did last year then it will be an upgrade and he will be good for 2 years until the guys in the minors get a few seasons under their belt and come up to the majors.

Braves are in a FULL rebuild mode. Gattis traded to Astro's for prospects. Good ones it would appear. I would say the odds of a .500 season are not looking good.
