I see suspending service or putting an account on hold suggested occasionally for someone looking to switch providers. When a DirecTV sub requests the account be put on hold, does everything stop working or can you still watch previously recorded shows?

everything stops working. all services are suspended, including DVR.
That's what I was afraid of. If I actually do switch I may drop everything to the cheapest plan until we have a chance to watch or attempt to record to DVD everything we can't get from other sources.

Thanks

I removed the satellite coax from my HR20 before suspending service, and recordings are still watchable a month later.

Do NOT unplug it, and hope there's no storms that takes power down.

If I take a recvr from the house to the Motor home, I cannot watch Recorded shows till I hook it up to a dish again .
