NASCAR 2016 season

Probably nothing... 500 laps is so long it all works out. How many times do we see cars fall to the back and come back...almost every week. Best cars almost always get back up front in cup...
All you haer about coming into Bristol is how hard it is to pass anyone on the short tracks ....
Falling 2 laps down, it didn't look good ... I was looking at a very long day for Dale, but it turned out nicely.

One other thing I noticed....the crowd

Or lack thereof

I know the day race doesnt get the fans there like the night race does....but damn it looked 1/2 empty
Ya know, I rarely look at the stands anymore.
True the Night race is the big one for them, but you'd think they would draw more ... it's Bristol after all.

It was when they showed the overhead (blimp) shot when you really saw the sparce crowd

Also doesnt Bristol seat what 160,000? This day and age may be tougher than previous years

Yes it holds that many. Shows how bad nascar is declining again. Thanks to dofus boy Brian France. 10 years ago you had no shot at a Bristol ticket.

160,000, did you really think they would get that many people there EVERY year ?
I would think if they got 130, 000 thats very acceptable, that said, I'm sure it was no where near that.

Wonder what the avg attendance is for a Nascar race ...
If a place added seats to make room for them in the heyday and are disappointed its not the same every year, thats on them ... they over built, now it looks like no one is showing up.

Thats like when the Lions were at the Silverdome and had 80,000 seats, they were never on TV due to sell out rules.
They would never sell that many tickets to see them, if thye go back to a typical NFL size, results were much better and the fans went back to having to see them on TV !

There were several people that went 2 laps down yesterday and came back to the lead lap. There were a lot of cautions.

Yes. If you knew anything about Bristol you would know it sold out year and year with no question that it would. They didn't add seats to the bowl. Then came the repave...

the wave around rule is what helped them

My dad asked me "what the hell is that wave around rule" so I had to explain it to him.

its crazy that 20 years ago it only held 86K and a year later was 117K...yet it sold out

That is one of the tracks I'd love to see (that and Martinsville)....

I wiki'd it ;)

I just remember seeing some old races there on TV (ESPN Classic use to show them years ago) when it held like 40,000.

I remember watching some races where people were on blankets in the grass that existed in turn 4 I think it was.

yup remember seeing that

Whenever they talk about big accidents they bring up Mikey Waltrip crashing head first in Bristol and destroying the vehicle. Its back when there was a gate

Of course Bristol sold out year after year ... this I knew ... don't give me the "If you knew anything BS".

Did it sell out this past week ?

Just saw this. How dumb can you be???? Those cars are loud. Hey there is a giant 18 m&m car coming at 10 mph I think I'll back up
Itys stupid Busch once again .... he was driving in a area designated for the fans.
He went the wrong way to get to where he wanted to go.
He couldn't have been moving very fast, they had to raise a rope for him to get thru , so you know he wasn't were he was suppose to be ... just taking a "I can do whatever I want " shortcut.
